As one who is a survivor of this monster, I wish him the absolute best. If anyone can beat this sort of cancer, it's him.

I don't know how uncommon this kind of thing might be....The Brewers and Reds played an intrasquad game yesterday where Brewer pitchers threw 45 pitches, Reds pitchers threw 57 pitches. There was one non-strike the entire game so I guess all hitters just went up swinging at everything. The time of game according to the box was 2:06. With that few pitches (102 total) and no mid-inning pitching changes, why would it take that long to complete the game? It shouldn't have taken more than 90-100 minutes.

We'll see how he handles big league hitters. In any event, I will be rooting for him tonight ifffen you know what I mean.

Never any guarantees, but I don't think he has much to prove in the minors. Opposing batters just look completely outclassed. There's a real Prior/Strasburg feel to him.. hopefully his health fares better. Regardless, I'm very excited to watch him pitch tomorrow.

The Reds are 1-11 in their last 12. For the love of fuck, please fire David Bell already, this team is NEVER going to come close to realizing ANY possible potential they might have with this doofus in charge. It's well past time, he has to go.

That offense has been pretty abysmal. EDLC's having a much better season, but even he's regressed somewhat and there's still contact issues (the hard contact helps mitigate that somewhat and aids his BABIP). I like Steer and think he's capable of hitting for higher averages than he's been so far, but I don't think power is ever going to be a major facet of his game. Encarnacion-Strand had an OK debut last year, but he just looks completely lost right now. He destroyed the minors, but even then his K/BB rates were kinda worrisome and they've plagued him in the majors. Jonathan India had a great rookie season, but has dealt with injuries and hasn't looked anything close to what he was then. McLain injury has been huge
