You've spelled it out clearly concerning strength of schedule the rest of the way with the Cardinals having much tougher series left to play than the Cubs.

The key for us, of course, is to just keep winning as many games as we can because with each passing day that the Cardinals post a win the Cubs will be fighting the clock that much more. On a positive note the Reds have played the Cubs tough all season and the Cubs also have not been good on the road so hopefully the Pirates will help us out in Pittsburgh. On a negative note for us, the Diamondbacks have been almost as hot as any team lately and the Brewers and Nationals have been playing good baseball lately too. But it all starts tonight with a series in Colorado against a team that we are suppose to beat and I will be disappointed if we don't win that series. You're right, this is not going to be easy down the stretch but I'm glad to hear that you have built up some confidence.
I may even have confidence in Wacha for the first time this season, but only because of who the Rockies are putting out there:
Wacha - 6-6 4.98 ERA
Gonzalez- 0-6 7.29 ERA

Yes, even with Wacha starting the pitching matchup should be in our favor. The only problem is that home runs normally decide games in this ball park no matter who is pitching since the ball carries so well in that light air. Speaking of Wacha, he needs to man up and carry his share of the load in the starting rotation, since he has been given another opportunity to do this, just like Wainwright has done lately.

Do you agree with this or not:

I think Edmond should be our everyday 3rd baseman with Carpenter getting pinch hitting roles against right handed pitching the rest of the way.

Thanks man, I just wanted to be sure I wasn't the only Cardinals fan thinking this way.

We should be fully rested tonight with a day off yesterday but I hope this doesn't mean that we will have to use our entire bullpen tonight because we need to keep those arms as fresh as possible.

Yelich done for the year with a broken kneecap...it's ok as the Brewer's have been done since early August. Oh well, just one more year of maybe next year added to the 50 so far

I don't like to hear that kind of news about any player no matter what team he plays for.

Yelich is a great player and he had another great year.

The player the Brewers could least afford to lose. Yelich was batting 330 with 44 home runs and 99 RBI's.

Next man up. Yeah, it sucks to lose Yelich but there are 18 games to play. Ain't no quitters.

Will certainly help to get a healthy Moustakas and Hiura back in the lineup but no way they can totally replace a guy with Yelich's talent.

There is still a good chance to ass up the Cubs for the last wild card since they are not playing that well. Once Miami series is over and we get the Cards out of the way the rest of the season is against teams with losing records as the Cubs and Cards play each other like 7 times or something like that

You are definitely still in the hunt and only 1 game behind the Cubs for that 2nd wildcard.

You are correct, 7 out of our last 10 games are against the Cubs with 4 away and 3 at home to end the season. I've got a feeling that we might have a few Brewers fans joining our cheering section for those games even though I know that will be difficult for Brewers fans to do.

I know the Brewers still have bats in their lineup even with Yelich gone. I guess we will all know a lot more after your weekend series in St. Louis is over.
