Well, since neither the Brewers or the Packers are going to be on the title wagon are you referring to the Badgers?

If we've got a deal I hope tomorrow morning's headlines in all Wisconsin papers will read:

Two professional teams in the state of Wisconsin win on the same night.

I can buy that.

Cardinal nation lost one of it's members. Chris Duncan just passed away at the age of 38. He was battling brain cancer. Dave already lost his wife, now this.

Thoughts and prayers to the family.

damn that's awful. I had no idea he was even battling cancer. can't believe it's been 10 years since he played in the majors too, felt like he was playing only a few years ago. RIP.

So sad for the Cardinal nation and particularly for Dave.

We never know what kind of hand we will be dealt in life but my prayers go out to Dave and all of the remaining members of his family.

The Cardinals bullpen failed miserably tonight but at least the Cubs lost to gain no ground on us.

Ted Barret called the absolute worst game from behind the plate tonight that I think I have ever seen. Not just for one team, the entire night. Horrible...

I think Ted stayed at happy hour too long before game time.

But the bottom line is we win, the Cubs lose, and we lead by 3 1/2 games!

I'm starting to feel some confidence building. :D
If we can hold a 3 game lead over them before the 7 games we end with them, I'll feel good about it.
All the Cubs fans where I work have disappeared again.

Cardinals have a tougher remaining schedule with series against the Brewers, Nats and D-backs. Cubs get Pirates, Reds and Pirates again.

3 of 4 against the Cubs.

20 games left. 3 vs the Cards 17 against 4th and 5th place teams. Time to finish strong.

I can't believe what I'm reading with words CONFIDENCE BUILDING! Congratulations and welcome to my world since I'm the only Cardinals fan here who has BELIEVED in our team since opening day through all of the ups and downs we have gone through all season long. I realize that we've still got to get to the finish line but I'm CONFIDENT that we will!

If all the Cubs fans where you work have disappeared tell the bosses there to hire some Cardinals fans if they want to have a winning work team!

You're correct about our tougher remaining schedule because after our series at the Rockies beginning tomorrow is over the rest of our entire remaining schedule is against winning teams.

We honored our deal! I cheered your Packers on to victory and in turn you did exactly what I wanted you to do to the Cubs by winning 3 out of 4.

Now I've got to start worrying about your team since they will be feeding on easy to eat fish for the next few days in Miami. Yep, your team is still in the hunt by saving their season against the Cubs but thank you for doing that.

What is funny is that it is likely that the Cubs fAns may be rooting for the Cardinals when we play the Diamondbacks. The Cubs may be fighting the Diamondbacks for the last wildcard spot.

You make a good point which is very possible.

By the way, if you have access to your computer on September 25th you can watch the Cardinals at the Diamondbacks live on youtube.com/mlb with no sign up. Just watch and hopefully enjoy.

Lead down to 4 after the Cubs win last night. This is going to be a crazy ending to the season in this division. I expect the Cubs to pick up a couple games on the Cards before they play the 7 games to end the season.

Cubs remaining series not against each other:

Padres
Pirates
Reds
Pirates
257 wins

Cardinals:

Rockies
Brewers
Nationals
Diamonbacks
288 wins

You've spelled it out clearly concerning strength of schedule the rest of the way with the Cardinals having much tougher series left to play than the Cubs.

The key for us, of course, is to just keep winning as many games as we can because with each passing day that the Cardinals post a win the Cubs will be fighting the clock that much more. On a positive note the Reds have played the Cubs tough all season and the Cubs also have not been good on the road so hopefully the Pirates will help us out in Pittsburgh. On a negative note for us, the Diamondbacks have been almost as hot as any team lately and the Brewers and Nationals have been playing good baseball lately too. But it all starts tonight with a series in Colorado against a team that we are suppose to beat and I will be disappointed if we don't win that series. You're right, this is not going to be easy down the stretch but I'm glad to hear that you have built up some confidence.
