In that thread, fai says the agreement ends aug 31. The playoffs wont be done by then so some other city must be getting the finals

I think they already have the hub cities whittled down to the final four and we'll likely hear something in the next week or so about what the final two hub cities will be. I think they could have added that little nugget in the press release. You are right though, location doesn't really matter all that much (although you have to think cities that have the fewest active COVID-19 cases would be on the short iist).
