Social distancing at the Roxy?!?

i kinda hope they just stay away from here ... we’re ok covid wise for the moment. Not like anyone can go to games or even see the players around town. Plus global made it sound like theyd completely take over 8 rinks and ive registered my son for a summer camp there :mad2:

only reason I'd want them here is for the little boost to the hospitality industry.

Since TBT (basketball tournament) is being played at Nationwide Arena, it knocks Columbus out of the NHL conversation, right?

Not necessarily. That will be over around the time training camps open up. It won't interfere with games.

I don't want this shit in my province or even in Canada. It's a completely contrived formula for the playoffs, there is next to no economic benefit for the host locations, our government should be prioritizing other things and Gary Bettman is weasel fucking felcher.

Going to be EDM Dr. Bonnie won't break. Not now

What is even the benefit of hosting it?

I think it will be EDM as well as the league wants to give the Oilers and McWonderful every advantage they can.

I'm not a virologist, but the league should probably stay far away from the giant red blob area.

I can't imagine why they would even consider a hub location anywhere near the east, even Pittsburgh, Chicago or Toronto.

The NHL is the one major sports league that has a franchise in the middle of nowhere. This is Edmonton's time to shine.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says the federal government is "open" to the NHL operating a hub city in Canada, so long as it's allowed by local health authorities.

Trudeau said Tuesday that the decision will need to be made by the NHL and the provincial and municipal governments where the league wishes to operate.

"Three Canadian cities are asking for it," Trudeau said at his daily briefing. "Obviously the decision has to be made by the NHL and the cities and the provinces. Canada is open to it as long as it is OK'd by the local health authorities."

The NHL is looking at a return to action from that would feature 24 teams operating out of two hubs. The league has narrowed down its potential sites to 10 cities, including Toronto, Edmonton and Vancouver.

dunno who this is, fwiw

If it's BIGGGG names you'd have to figure Oliver Ekman-Larsson is a possibility. That's 18 letters. Jonathan Marchessault plays for Vegas — is it possible he lives south (east?) of the state line?
