times like last night (dont happen frequently) I like to check in with our close neighbours to the south and see how their media cover "our stories"

the 11pm newscasts in seattle all talked about the canucks which was great but there was also this nugget

when talks of relocation come up (Ive posted before) that i hate hearing "move them to (blank)" when there is never any talk about an actual ownership group coming forward and saying they have interest

well sounds like there is a group showing some interest in Seattle (theyre still unnamed though)... I used to think Seattle wasnt a very good hockey market (WHL at best) but now with the Sonics long gone there definitely is a winter sports void ... need an arena though and I doubt the King County taxpayer is paying for another new building in that town

Group interested in luring NHL to Seattle | KING5.com Seattle

In the Thrashers thread I posted I would love to see a team in Seattle. It's a good size market and as you said no NBA.

Maybe Bill Gates likes hockey. :)

2nd largest US tv market currently without an NHL team (Houston first)

still dont know if they are willing to pay NHL ticket prices 41 times a year though

I think there is still enough hockey fans in the lower mainland and Washington state to make it viable. Of course, this could spell the demise of the Everett Silvertips and Seattle Thunderbirds if it ever were to come to fruition.

idk ... they stepped up and bought in with the MLS Seattle Sounders in a major way (in comparison to the miniscule support they gave the USL Seattle Sounders) so thats something ... ie if they perceive something as big league they will treat it as big league

thats alot of hockey for 1 region .. Canucks ... Seattle NHL team and the Surrey Stars ;)

Seattle has got to be better than Sunrise, FLA.
