Steep price for breaking an unwritten rule. The fine I could see but the picks are brutal. Trading players to get under the cap just got a whole lot tougher now that we lost 2 bargaining chips.

i'm okay with a punishment as long as its one or the other....


they are saying bettman had a lot of teams pushing for it, but the fact that he succumbed to their wishes is questionable.


i think the fine and a 3rd i would have been more tolerant over, or even a small fine with a 1st round pick but ALL of it? thats excessive. the devils apparenlty have the right to appeal it at the board of governors meeting this week
