You've done nothing but slag on Brady for the coupla years I've had to scroll through your posts. Now you're just being a crybaby. I addressed your thread. The rules are as fair as they can be made to be.
I hate both teams. I even said this:

God I hope Atlanta gets ass reamed in the SB.

Bottom line is the OT rules are flawed. You know it. That's why you're getting so defensive.

While I agree in this particular game the coin toss was huge that is no reason to change the OT rule. To what? Most feel the college system is stupid and no way the NFLPA would agree to a 5th QB. That also removes the drama of sudden death. Alanta had plenty of chances to keep the Pats out of the end zone and they failed. That's not the rule, that's the defense.

Atlanta lost because they took a sack on a deep drop when 3 runs and a field goal wins a championship.

I've addressed each situation you've brought up. You're the one who has nothing.

....except being a crybaby.

Yep, except I've explained why the rules are flawed and tried to discuss a better alternative.. but apparently I'm just a "hater"

Yet you didn't address any specifics of the concern I mentioned.

A full other quarter is the only way to achieve the equity you seek for both teams and that's too much extra playing time.

Falcons shit the bed, just like you're doing in this thread. You should just stick to calling the Pats cheaters.

It doesn't even have to be a full quarter. Is 10 minutes too much for you? Rarely will a drive last 10 minutes, so that almost but garantees both teams will have a possession. If one team controls the ball for 10 full minutes then props to them.

OT rules in the playoffs need to change. The only reason the rules are the way they are is because the NFL wants to take it easy on the players during the regular season so they don't play longer OT games. In the playoffs both units of each team should get a chance.

Exactly. Essentially a coin toss decided a super bowl. Had Atlanta won the toss and marched down the field I'd feel the same way. It is a flawed system.

Going in for a touchdown is not trivial. Much more than punching in a 40-50 yard field goal. Of course having the first try is an advantage. So what. The Falcons could have stopped them and made them kick that field goal.. They couldn't.

So now it appears as if you are arbitrarily pulling numbers out of your ass. 10 minutes, 15 minutes, whatever. Sudden death leads to great drama, the players union does not want to expose their members to more collisions.

The last time I checked special teams and defense are also part of the game. All Atlanta had to do was hold the Pats to a field goal and they woul have gotten their opportunity. Instead they allowed them to march right down the field and into the end zone and there appears to be nothing unfair at all about the final outcome to me. And I hate the Patriots.

It appears to me that someone lost a lot of money when the Falcons ended the choke allowing that td.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with sudden death OT rules. It's the way it should be. No matter how you write up the rules, one team will lose and bitch. This notion that it's not fair for a team to not get a possession has been addressed with the FG implementation and that is enough. Beyond that, there is no solution that will please everybody anyway. Life isn't fair and like the Eagles said,"stop bitchin and moanin and pitchin a fit and get over it."

as a big college football fan as well, i've always loved their system and wished the NFL switched to it. fair chance for both teams, regardless of the coin flip or who's hot/cold.

Hell no, piss on the college system. That isnt football, its soccer masquerading as football

Suck. Plain and simple. I'm not taking away anything from the Patriots. It was an amazing comeback. But the OT rules should and probably will be changed soon.

So, if the Falcons had won the toss, they'd have kicked a field goal and Brady would've led the Patriots to a touchdown. Same end result.

It's not perfect but it's not bad. The game was over once the game went to OT.

This.

The Falcons were already done after the Pats tied it up. Actually, Atlanta would have probably gone 3 and out. And the Falcons defense was gassed.

Yeah the rules aren't great but Atlanta had no chance of winning

I can see it being changed for the playoffs. Can't imagine the NFLPA will sign off on the possibility of making regular season games any longer.

This thread again....fucking millenials and their its not fair battle cry. Defense is part of the game. Hold the pats to a fg and they get the ball back. Cry me a river, no rule change needed.
