We've been over this dozens of times.

The first team to possess the ball will have to punt on 4th down while the second team to possess the ball will use all 4 downs because they have nothing to lose.

It has to be the way it is. It may not be ideal but there is no perfect fix.

Now, shut the fuck up OP, you whiny Brady hating little bitch.

Football is a team sport.....
If "the" mvp didn't touch the ball at all in OT it's his teams fault.

Your D allowed them to score 25 unanswered points, and why were they unanswered points....Because mr. mvp couldn't get it done either.....

Stop blaming the system for teams not able to get the job done.

Here is your trophy, get a fuckin grip.
I'm not blaming the system for teams "not getting the job done". I'm blaming the system for having bullshit overtime rules.

The system is irrelevant if the team gets the job done.

Overtime plays no factor if your shit defense stops the Pats just "one" time.
Why should you get an extra quarter to prove you can't get the job done???

60 minutes isn't enough to show you failed????

Why can't there be a "5th quarter" for OT? What is the argument against that?

Because if you can't get the job done in 60 minutes WTF is 15 more minutes gonna do for you.

Why not just have 20 minute quarters.....Get the job done in the allotted time.

What the fuck can't you understand, you had just as many chances to score as the Pats did and couldn't, you didn't get the job done, your done.

If it went into overtime in the first place, doesn't that mean both teams failed? After a full 4 quarters the game is still undecided so neither team has succeeded, right?

The first team will have to punt and so must get it done with three downs. The second team gets to use all 4.

It can't be made better.

And the Pats won the coin toss and the Falcons again failed to stop them, game over.

I'm suggesting a full new quarter. Not a sudden death situation. There can be multiple possessions for each team.

Too much football, players will get hurt, NFLPA wouldn't agree to it.

Feel free to stfu and accept the Patriots win.

That's a weak and unfair argument.

Pats scored 5 straight times in the 3rd and 4th quarter.....
Did the Falcons not get the ball to try and score at any point and time during all this????

So your fair argument is that the shit show of a Defense couldn't get the job done, so the shit show of an offense should get a chance to stink the place up.....

That's a good answer

I knew pats fans would get all over me for bringing this up. It's a valid topic of discussion whether you like it or not.

I gave the pats their credit in the OP.

Count them.....5 times the Pats scored at the end of the game.....

The Falcons were also given 5 chances.....

Just 3 points, a worthless 3 fuckin points and this game is over, this conversation is irrelevant, But guess what, the Falcons couldn't do it, they failed!!! They lost!!! Game Over. They gave the game away.

You've done nothing but slag on Brady for the coupla years I've had to scroll through your posts. Now you're just being a crybaby. I addressed your thread. The rules are as fair as they can be made to be.

None of what you said should be relevant to how overtime is conducted! Absolutely nothing that happened previously should have to do anything with overtime! The score is tied!!

Wouldn't of been tied if the Falcons had done their job.

So because they gave away the 3rd and 4th quarter, it seemed fitting they lost the coin toss, and the game.

Rule is pretty straight forward, if the team scores a touchdown, game over. So all the Falcons had to do was stop them, they couldn't do it. The #1 Defense failed, and how many penalties did they commit to keep the Pats hopes and dreams alive???? How many more times should they have failed in your opinion before the white towel gets tossed in????

Overtime is still irrelevant in all of this if the Falcons do their job, just one time on D and one time on O.
Nothing wrong with OT, if you can't get the job done in 60 minutes, what happens afterwords is the fault of the losing team.

as a big college football fan as well, i've always loved their system and wished the NFL switched to it. fair chance for both teams, regardless of the coin flip or who's hot/cold.
