I figured Allen would win MVP, but Saquon was more deserving - He ran for 2000 yards and carried the Eagles to the Super Bowl, he was the spark that made their O go. But MVP is basically a QB only award.

There is no question there is a QB biased and if anyone other than a QB could win it it would be Barkley. But if we took Allen away from the Bills or Lamar from the Ravens I believe it will have an identical impact to the Eagles without Barkley. Maybe even more so. The Eagles were already very good to great the last few years without Barkley, I'm not sure you could say that about Allen and the Bills.

OPOY and MVP does seem redundant.

I have a hard time caring about this unless the 3 players Lamar finished behind weren't Allen, Burrow and Barkley. All 4 players had crazy seasons

Woodson and Allen don’t even play the same position. Allen was a cover corner and Woodson was a safety and slot corner. Allen is the Eagles franchise leader for INTs and that’s a pretty old franchise. Allen is definitely worthy of the Hall of Fame.

Maybe I'm an idiot, but I never actually realized how many complete moron journalists get to vote for this shit.

Case and point right there, although I guess it's possible it was a former player. Just feels like a move a dumbfuck move an ESPN talking head would make either way.

Barkley is the true MVP
But as others have mentioned it is a QB award

What is surprising to me is that Barkley didn’t get any 1st place votes
That is an insult
Agreed, I thought it was nuts that slot had a zero next to his name.

Even with it being a QB award, that’s still absolutely retarded.

Time to get new voters, if that can be arranged.
