Ok right now im talking to the guy drafting the Cowboys and im trying to get his 1st round pick. When trading draft picks we have to keep it within 100 points. The Cowboys 27th pick is worth 680 points. He is asking for our 2nd round 46th pick worth 440, 3rd round 79th pick worth 195 and 6th round 190th pick worth 15.4 points. Going by the points value we are getting 680 and giving up 650.4. Do you guys think I should work on a trade getting back into the 1st round to have 2 1st round picks? If I did this trade I would draft a WR for sure and the other position would be between a CB or DE. That means I wouldnt draft a ILB or CB/DE until the 4th round.

well according to the experts, this is a weak draft for ILBs, so the 4th round might be perfect to start looking for value at the position. I say go for it.

Would you have to do the trade before the draft, or can you wait and see what happens? I'm not really up to speed on this draft, but my sense is there are about 13-14 very good players (of course), and then a pretty deep "second tier" that should last until the 46th pick. WR in particular is so deep this year. You've got Cooper, White, Parker, DGB, Strong, Perriman, Coates, D. Smith, Dorsett, Funchess. No more than eight receivers have ever gone before 46, and the average is probably about six. There will be some good players there. If we went WR first, though, I might consider moving up for a CB or DL.

I can trade during the draft. At 1st I would looking to trade our 15th for Cowboys 27th and 60th. I agree there are a lot of good players and I think some will drop to 27th and I can have my pick between CBs, WRs and DE/DTs.

My thoughts as well on the bolded. no LB worthy of a trade up but to have two 1st round picks to get a WR and a CB would make me happy. DL might be an issue can be drafted in the later rounds IMO.

I have 2 options trading our 15th pick for Cowboys 27th and 60th or trading our 46th, 79th and 190th for Cowboys 27th. Which trade do you guys like better?

Depending on how it shakes out when the picks start being made, I'd prefer to trade back with our first. We have a lot of needs, I think there's a drop-off in talent (or a leveling off) right around where we pick, but there's good depth into the late first, early second. That said, we haven't had a high pick lately to get an impact player, so if there's an impact guy there at 15, we take him.

1.8.8: Atlanta: Shane Ray - DE - Missouri
1.9.9: NY Giants: Amari Cooper - WR - Alabama
1.10.10: St. Louis: Marcus Mariota - QB - Oregon
1.11.11: Minnesota: Trae Waynes - CB - Michigan St.

I decided to keep the pick and draft DGB. I was hoping Parker would make it to me. Even with his off the field issues it was hard for me to pass on DGB even with guys like Malcom Brown, Erik Armstead, Jalen Collins, Randy Gregory, Marcus Peters, La'el Collins, Kevin Johnson and all the ILBs still on the board.

I would have gone Gregory. Aldon is a question mark for 2016, and you can never have enough pass rushers. He's clear top-10 talent to be had at 15.

Gregory is a risk just like DGB. Gregory tested positive for weed while in college and now at the combine. Its pretty sad when you know you will be drug tested and you still fail. It has some saying he might care more about smoking than his NFL career. The reason I didnt pick Gregory is cuz I still believe in Aldon and think he will work on his off the field issues. Boldin is likely to retire after this season and we still need a future #1 WR and I figured DGB is worth the risk.

Few teams will trade that many mid rounds pick in one season. It's far more likely that you'll trade future round picks to move up.

That said, the 2015 NFL draft is LOADED at: RB, OLB/DE, DT, WR. Mid Tier = CB. BOTTOM Tier = ILB, O-Line, S, QB (Mariota is not top 10 let alone 20, but he's a QB so some stupid team will do it), and TE.

49ers need to heavily focus on WR, DL with focus on RB/CB/OLB mid rounds.

Would be shocked if the 49ers massively trade up in this draft.

That's fair, but DGB has the added risk of not playing last year. And word on the street is he didn't interview well at the combine (though I've heard the same thing about Gregory). I could live with either, but between the two, I'd take the guy who played like a top-5 pick at a premier position in 2014.

Baalke never massively trades up.

DGB makes me a bit nervous. What is his work ethic like?

I'm not sure...he was such a beast in college, and I wanted him for sure a few weeks back...but the more I thought about it...half of me feels like I want to take that chance based on his physical attributes, the other half feels like this might be an Al Davis reach & bust. I think Ellington will turn out to be a bright spot for us, Patton will be serviceable, Boldon & Smith will be solid, Davis will rebound this season, but we still need another banger for the future...the short of the long...I'm torn on the decision if he's there for us and the BPA.

The more and more I read some articles I think 49ers go CB in the 1st pick. 3 years in a row going secondary.

Maybe. But seeing how many cbs they have, I can't imagine doing that unless the CB is really BPA.

Only way we go WR if Parker, White or Cooper falls in our lap. I like DGB and think he has the highest ceiling but I don't know if I go 15th for him because of the risk. We need an impact player right away.
