NHL works for me @ the Rose Garden. Top notch ice rink venue too. Makes the most sense.
Or rip down the Memorial and put in a ball park.
Baseball in Oregon spring and summer? Puh lease! Sign me up.

I think the Raiders will move to San Jose or LA. If there's a team to be had it's the Bills.
Word is support from the Toronto area has dwindled and pretty much the only reason the Bills are in the Buffalo area to begin with is the idea that they get fan support from Toronto as well as the Buffalo area.
I would love Oregon to get a football team. My only request would that they should be in the NFC West so we can have the I-5 rivalry like the Sonics and Blazers always had.

Expansion is unacceptable and there are better markets if someone were to move. Oregon is and should be low on the list.
Other than L.A. name a better market?
Oh I know, it's a pipe dream, but we are trying. As a lifelong Raider fan this is beyond my imagination. Say goodbye to marriage if the Raiders come to Portland. Ducks season tix for 20 years of Saturdays. Former Raider tix holder. And surely I would be a season tix holder again if this came true.

Roger Goodell said that any new team granted to CA would have to include a stadium deal that was good enough for 2 teams. I don't know if that applied just to CA or included other states as well.
I don't know how the people of Oakland feel about losing their team. If the fans of the Raiders in Oakland are against it, then I can't support it. I don't want what happened to Cleveland or Baltimore to happen to another city. At that point I'd rather see an expansion franchise granted than to take a team from a city that wanted to keep theirs.
If Oakland doesn't give a flip, then I hope it all works out.
Been tough for stadiums to get started in Oakland. The Oakland As are still looking for a new stadium after so many years. The Golden State Warriors team which currently resides next to the Oakland Coliseum are making plans for a new arena in San Francisco. Oakland could end up without a pro team in its city limits.

They would have to change to the NFC west. It's the only way to make that work. It would likely be a precondition for the deal to go down. Not only for the Seattle/Portland rivalry, but they would also instantly pick up the SF/Portland rivalry as well. Wouldn't be hard to just trade the Rams for the Raiders. Then the NFC West would all actually be in the west.
Won't happen though. With cities like LA likely ahead of them it would take some crazy events to happen for it to take place.
Yep. All 3 that play within a block of each other will all be gone in 5 years. It certainly appears that way.
And that Warriors arena in SF on the pier will be SICK!

I can't tell you how much I disagree with putting yet another NFL team in LA. They've already had 3. (Chargers, Raiders and Rams).
I'm not saying I want to see them move to LA. I just wonder if their lack of a team puts them ahead of a city that would struggle to find public funding for a major stadium. Portland does support the Timbers and they would likely take advantage of a larger facility, but that and some interest from fans in the region are really not enough to make that bird fly. They would need SERIOUS money coming from multiple investors to get that project off the ground and I just can't see it happening.
Mamba. As for Portland being soccer city USA? Really? What does jeld wen hold? Like 20k? Sounders averaged over 40k a game and lead the league again in attendance and merchandising. Your team won on the field last year and had a better season, but really isn't in the same league as Seattle in terms of fan support. Just isn't.
I would love to see an NFL team go to Portland as that's a stadium within driving distance we could go see road games in. I'd just have to see some real action from some big name investors before I'd start to think they have a real chance.
