The Oldtimer
Older than dirt!!
The Rams are averaging 69,000 fans at home. That is more than the Seahawks and Patriots. The majority of Rams fans still live in St. Louis.

The Chargers are not doing too bad record wise so far this season. When the rams dip in success and the chargers become a good team, attendance will flip.
They aren’t near as good as the rams. LA fans know this and are on board the bandwagon. The Chargers are not doing too bad record wise so far this season.
Mr. Spanos is too cheap to pay for tarps...or pay for their storage.Chargers are gagging... can't even fill a 30K stadium with their own fans. The Chiefs game to start the year was a sea of red. I can't imagine what they'll do when they move after the RAMS stadium is built. I suppose they would tarp off vast sections of the upper decks with their team's color like the Raider currently do.
Chargers are a good team. I think fans would show up if they didn’t play in a 30k soccer stadium. Not true at all, the atmosphere for the last game was great 75k fans. Place was hopping.

Well, you’d know better than me. If the rams sucked, they wouldn’t be getting all of this support. The winner and loser of the LA football race was over before it began and it had nothing to do with records. When the Rams said they were coming back, LA was excited. The fans were pumped and at that time, the Rams sucked. When the Chargers announced, you could hear a pin drop. No one cared. No one wanted them. People wanted the Raiders, but no one wanted the Chargers. They’re always going to be the second choice team in LA.

There's no way there's more real fans in LA than there are from their years in St. Louis. LA isn't a sports town. But Hollywood loves a good bangwagon.
They were second in the league in home attendance in 2016, a season in which they went 4-12 in the worst stadium in the NFL not located in Oakland.

They can move to Mexico and call themselves TacosI think the real question at this point is where to the Chargers wind up, because they are not going to survive in LA. Back to San Diego? Doubtful IMO unless there is an ownership change. I think this team will be moving again though.
Your last sentence I think is spot on. LA is very much a sports town...but you better win.

We love to rail on SoCal and LA when it comes the NFL gate, but based on this data above, the Rams will likely fare better at the gate in LA...and we know the real money in the NFL is in TV and there are a whole lot more TV sets in SoCal.
