NFL Draft 2017

From what I've read from scouts is he is not a top ten pick in their opinion. Good but not great. He is a bit undersized and more importantly in the scouts' opinion is better suited for a 3-4 defense than a 4-3 defense. Not my opinion, just what I've read.

Interesting....the guys I've read compared to him in the NFL is Michael Bennett and Justin Smith, and Mike Mayock says he's a 4-3 guy. Same with you....it's only what I've read/heard.

Lol, I've read a couple of them but really pay little attention. These mock drafts are who the writers think they should draft, which might not be who the FO wants

I saw his mock, the 49ers won't be trading the #2 overall pick for Cousins.

Ok wel all these Pick ups changed how we should draft with the 1st pick. We won't go QB(Tub,Kizer or watson), We won't go MLB(Foster), I think they will look to trade back and get more picks or if they are stuck with the pick they go DT Allen or CB Lattimore or DE Thomas. If we trade back I would like to take DE Bennett or here comes a surprise I know I know some won't like this but RB Fournettte or RB Cook. We all know Shanahan likes 2 RBs and hyde does get hurt. I only of RB if we trade back.

it isn't all bad, there is still talent left as opposed to 'bare cupboard'.

It appears Robinson can start thought not saying he is 'NFL good'. Jimmy Ward seems to have a good chance at CB. or still valuable even if moved to Safety. The big key will be what Redmond can do, for all we know he becomes one of the starters?

Johnson is still a good role player/back-up. Reaser?

LOL, my comment was due to Baalke drafting so many DBs the past couple of years. I would agree that the cornerback situation is not bad. I would hope not after drafting so many. We have a number of average to pretty good DBs but none that really stands out so far. Before his injury in college, Redmond was considered a 1st round prospect so it will be interesting to see how he does if that knee is fully healed.

Yeah, he was highly rated so could provide not only starting ability, but good starting ability. If he has this talent, it flash during pre-season, it shouldn't take another year.

BTW - For me he wasn't REALLY an ACL draft pick, cause think he even practiced for a short period.

He definitely belongs to the ACL club. He tore his ACL in college and wasn't fully healed by draft time. I also believe some of the other ACL players drafted practiced their first year also.

49ers 7-round mock draft: Post-free-agency edition (1st wave) - Inside the 49ers

Yet another mock but at least this one is after the free agent signings (so far).

The first thing that stands out is the trade with Cleveland, i like it so much i don't believe Cleveland will do it. If i'm Cleveland i'd just stand pat at #12 and see which QB falls to me? Or MAYBE i trade up from #12 to say #8, to get my QB? But even this trade shouldn't cost me #33 + 2nd rounder in 2018?!

The second thing is......i don't mind the first two picks but don't like the next two (SS and CB). Granted, we can only go by Need and not BPA. If it turns out the 'next two' are BPA, then great.

For the second Round 4 pick, is there an OT we might develop? We can definitely use a NT too, so not making this a 'big deal'.

Don't like DE in Round 5, because we already have this 'situational pass rusher' in Blair. Maybe we draft a developmental OT here?

About the only pick I really like is Smith, he could develop into a really good TE...though there are probably better guys available earlier. Williams is a dud, Vanderdoes is a high ceiling/low floor guy depending on if his knee is ok and if he can clean up his body, Beatherd isn't worth bothering with even in the 7th round. Ross is intriguing but are we really going to go WR with our first pick after all our free agency signings? Cunningham's a good linebacker but he's probably a weakside guy in the NFL and, again, is that the route we'll go after signing a weakside LB in free agency? And anyway, it's doubtful Cunningham doesn't get picked in the first. Drafting two guards that late? Why bother at that point?

Charlie Casserly was on KNBR this morning. He said Trubisky is the best QB in the draft. He did not have really have anything good to say about Watson. He didn't sound optimistic about him succeeding in the NFL

While i'm certainly for BPA excpet we fans can only go by Need. Looking at this mock i'm totally fine with the first 4 picks. the only small comment i have is in lieu of Kupp, is there an EDGE guy still worth this spot?

I could only see drafting a DB with the first pick if this player was truly a standout compared to the rest of the 1st round picks and would be a true shutdown corner. If not, I would address a bigger need like Linebacker or a pass rusher.

I don't see a corner makes sense unless he is a great one. We have picked many corners the past two years and could have a couple of reallyyoung ones. I wouldn't use the #2 pick on one
