So because we're finally not picking top 10 we should be reckless with our pick?

Should we consider Tommy Streeter at 30, too?

Hill was being projected as a late first, early second round pick BEFORE the combine. I don't understand how taking him at 30 could be considered reckless; especially since he just validated himself with the fastest 40 time and outstanding size.
If we were talking about taking Hill in the top 10 then I could understand your point.

Streeter is a track guy, word was he was gonna run in 4.3's and he still wasn't being projected to go as high as 30. I don't see why he would now since nothing has changed.

Ryan Lownes:

We knew that #USC's Nick Perry would be a workout warrior coming into the day. So why would my opinion change if that's what was expected?

I thought he'd do great at the combine too, but 4.5 flat? That's not just workout warrior status; that's obscene. I wanted the Niners to trade up for him into the 20's, but it's starting to look like top 15 status. :(

Vinny Curry really ran an O-lineman's pace in the 40? What happened there?

Poe is making a case for being a top 10 pick.

Ingram is looking like a 15-20 range guy.

Zach Brown's first 40 was a very poor effort and he probably should have been stopped to do it over again because he had trouble around 25-30 yards.

Shea is a player I really like. He could be a steal in the 3rd round. He's a Ryan Kerrigen type of player, non stop motor.

Really surprising on Curry's time. I guess he will only be a de.

I've been saying that for months now. Reason why he was listed so high (top 10 overall prospect) on my pre-combine rankings. He's raw and has tons of room to become a dominant "football player".

If Poe is available, would you select him for our Niners?

I watched Coale a couple of times this season and was very impressed. I didn't know anything about him entering the draft or being known as a top collegiate player. This kid would fit very well in our wco, he is a fighter. I wouldn' be upset if we spent a 4th or 5th round pick on him.

This is why he should NOT have run. He went a half a second slower than he expected. Twice. That does nothing except hurt his draft stock. 4.45 and 4.44 unofficial.

Absolutely. I never thought of him as a realistic option though; he'll go way too high.

Konz still looks like my favourite realistic option at 30, but the DBs haven't worked out yet.

Whitney Mercilus had a good 10 yard split (1.56) at 6'4 261 pounds. He has long arms & a decent vertical as well.

One down side is his paradoxical name though. Mercilus? One of the greatest football last names; up there with Cedric Killings. However, his first name is Whitney.

lol, imagine that would be the key trait to drop Mercilus stock...lol

I can hear the coach shouting, "Whitney!!!!"

Poe does present a unique opportunity, but like you said, he'll unlikely fall to our laps @30.

Luke Kuechly had to run a 3rd 40 time because of the big differential between his first two 40s. That will happen every once in a while if you didn't know. Scouts will ask you to run a 3rd one in those cases.

Jim Leavitt is working out the LBs in drills right now. Rathman ran some of the RB drills and Solari ran some of the OL drills in previous days, too. I may have missed other 49ers coaches but I think that might be all of them.

Hell yeah!

I'd draft Poe or Janoris Jenkins in a heartbeat if they were available at pick # 30. Their respective skill set doesn't come too often. They are RARE...!
