Clyde, or somebody else, can sticky this like the Senior Bowl thread if they want.

If you're familiar with the thread I used to make on the ESPN boards on the combine I'll try to do the same type of stuff again.

Here's the official invite list: Official Invite List | NFL Combine

In the past alot of people on the ESPN boards liked to look over the list because you get all of the birth names of these players and many are often surprised that a high percentage of players each year don't go by their birth/official name.

I'm really looking forward to see Sanu and Iloka workout. I think both would flourish in our system, from day 1.

Who's running the fast 40 this year?
The Florida boys: Rainey or Demps? LaMichael James? Travis Benjamin?

Who's putting up the most reps on the bench?
Dontari Poe? Mike Martin? Alameda Ta'amu?

Cone Drills?
Joe Adams? Rainey?

Zach Brown will be in the top 10 or 15. Demps would run it the fastest if he participated.

Sweet! As always thaks for posting this stuff Pozz.

1 More week and we'll have some combine numbers. Any Crapramento area people here? Ever listen to KHTK 1140? It drives me nuts listening to Grant Napear always talk about how useless the combine is.

Actually it just drove me nuts having to listen to Gran Napear.

Mayock said Demps would most likely have run it fastest, had he been participating (instead of training for the Olympics).

Maybe it's just me, but it's interesting to see guys real names.

Example: Joe Adams, is really Adam Adams. Pesky parents...

Hell, I'm just gonna keep this up. A couple more...

Rond'trique (Ron) Brooks
Orlandus (Andre) Branch
Qualin (Dont'a) Hightower
La'Diviosia (Gerell) Robison

The stars are aligning in the 49er's favor in my eyes:
- We finally have a competent GM
- A Coach that can get the most out of AS
- Arguably the best front seven in football
- The draft (IMO) is deep at just the right positions
- And last I checked a ton of cap space to re-sign and do damage in the FA market.

NFL draft: Illinois' Whitney Mercilus chronicles his experience leading up to the NFL draft - chicagotribune.com

I'm trying to get my weight up to 260 pounds. I'm at 256 now. I started last season at 265, but my weight dropped to 250 as the season went on. I have a high metabolism so I burn a lot of calories. But I can play at 260, no doubt.

Mercilus is interesting in the respect that he put up dominate numbers against top comp. I like his size, speed and strength for 3-4 rush backer. The only thing that concerns me is that this was his only season with good numbers. I wonder if he'll be a late bloomer to the NFL game speed or if he's reached a point of his life where he'll just be dominate regardless of who he's facing?

It really doesn't matter I guess, he'll go before 30.

*Note: Even though some "experts" say Vinny Curry would make a better 4-3 end than a 3-4 rush backer, I have to disagree. I think he'd be a stud opposite Aldon Smith. The fact is that he gets after the qb, non stop motor. He uses his hands correctly on the pass rush already, to go along with his 6-5 260 lb frame. He showed that his style of play can dominate against any level of talent at the Senior Bowl. I really hope we take a long look at him with pick #30.
