I really have no problem with any other fan base. After all we're all hockeyfans.I think it's lame when another fan will slam us on his board, accusing most of the Flyer regulars of wishing injury on Mac either there or on the regular board.I haven't seen him names names cause he's full of it.

:L

I think Johnny was talking about the Flyers coaches not the fans when he talked about the Flyers wanting to injure McDonagh. Keep in mind that McDonagh was coming off a shoulder injury & the Flyers' strategy in game 1 was to target him with their forecheck. I don't think the Flyers were trying to injure McDonagh but they were trying to take advantage of a perceived weakness. Flyers & Rangers is a more heated rivalry than I originally thought.

This should be interesting. For whatever reason, we're an entirely different team when he's in net and it's all positive. The only question is whether he can find his form quickly enough to make the difference. He had stellar numbers against the NYR all season long, but he is coming in cold, so he needs to warm up to the task in a hurry.

At the end of the day though, I'm way more confident in Mason than I am Emery. The stats just don't lie.

I would imagine the reason MacDonough or however you spell it is being targeted if he truly any more then any Rangers d-man is is because of the nasty ass cross check he threw on Giroux immediately following or coinciding with the Flyers first goal of the series, but hey that's just what I would do (play physical and make sure to finish every check I had the opportunity to make on the guy) if a player took a shot like that at my captain and it was a series.

As Doobie said, the game-plan coming into it, before the cross-check, was to target MacTruck's shoulder. It was rather obvious, and reported all day and the night before game 1. But it's all good, it's hockey.

We didn't check him from behind and didn't check him in the head and didn't check his knees just where are the Flyers supposed to check him if not in his shoulders?? Maybe we shouldn't check him at all that seems to be what you're saying here.

That's not what i'm saying. Berube's game-plan for line 1 was to heavily grind and dump it towards Mac's end and jam him into the boards, thus, attacking the shoulder. Is that not clear as day? :noidea:

It worked on one play and it lead to the goal from AMac, but for some reason, they stopped.

I still fail to see your problem with that game plan, am I missing something? Should we have dumped it in and not jammed him into the boards?

All i'm saying is, the intent to attack or injure the shoulder was there. It's not a big deal, i'm just pointing it out, thankfully, it hasn't worked. Though, Mac isn't 100% and doesn't look that good at all

I'm just curious but do you honestly believe that if any team was to intentionally target a player who just came back from a well publicized injury that that player would even make it out of game one? I understand your point of exploiting a player who is not at 100%, that's called strategy but I have yet to see anyone really take a run at Mac as you call him. I've seen tons of hard clean checks this series, to many players on both teams but have yet to really see anyone take a legitimate run at another player or pull a Cooke and show any intent to injure anyone.

I don't think anybody would do that intentionally, it just seemed that way from Berube's words. Of course, I easily could have misinterpreted them and taken them out of context and will gladly admit when I am wrong. There's been clean and there's been some dirty, on both sides of the ice, but you had to expect that when a storied rivalry like this was going to take place.

Here's the deal. Flyers should stop going after McDonna & the Rangers agree to leave Girloux alone. Deals?
