Niners defense was dominant from from 2011-2013. They ranked 4th in 2011, 3rd in 2012 and 5th in 2013 (total defense). Kap alone did not take the Niners to the Super Bowl. At least Alex is still a starting QB. You can't say that about Kap.

Wasn't aware he was on the radar. I like him much more than Jackson as a candidate.

I'm not thrilled with it, but I think he's one of the best on our list of candidates. His offense with far more weapons ranks behind Roman's offense (this year in Buffalo) in yards, and they score less than a FG more.

I will say this, I'm glad they're trying to find somebody who understands offense. Hopefully whoever they hire can slap some sense into Baalke when it comes to drafting that side of the ball.

Actually the Niners had the most pathetic offense in the NFL last season. The Browns actually kicked the Niners butt.

Just threaded the needle on that touchdown pass. I haven't seen a 9ers QB make a pass like that since Garcia was under center.

God I miss competent QBing. Worse, I miss competent offense.

I don't want to win because our defense is top 3 in the league. I don't want to lead the league in FG attempts. I would LOVE to see us in the top 5 in passing yards next season. It's not the 70's anymore. The rules of today's game so massively favor a passing offense. I'm tired of three yards and a cloud of dust. We're not Nebraska, and it's 2016.

No they did but Smith played with the same D. Im just saying Smith would never get us over the hump. He is what he is. a good game manager. He won't win a super bowl with KC.

I will say this I wish the D showed up in the super bowl because we would of won if they showed up.

Actually Kap is a starter. We will find out next year what Kap really is. Again Im not making this a Kap vs Smith thing. I will just say Kap has a better playoff record and made it to a super bowl. Smith has not.

Overall I'm happy we are done with Smith and I will be happy if we move on from Kap. Its time to find that next QB for this franchise.
