Sean Peyton, but if he is not available then it is Chip Kelly if Marathe has his way or Hue if Baalke has his way.

F_ck Marathe. I thought that ass clown was managing a soccer team now. He needs to STFU and climb back under that rock he came out from. If Marathe likes Kelly, that is reason enough not to hire him.

The first thing is to have the Owner, Baalke, and the new HC be on the same page. They don't have to be best of buddies, but we need some continuity and it starts at the top.

As we ALL know, if the HC doesn't get along with people, he'll be gone and we start over.

Sean Payton would control both the offense and the locker room. He has also been willing to stay out of what the D is doing, which is primarily what we need. If only we still had Fangio to take over the D and Payton to run the team and especially the offense.

Sounds like Baalke really likes Payton. As much as we want Baalke gone, he will be here next year. Being both Parcell disciples, they might work well together which is a big plus

I wonder what kind of compensation would the Saints want if the Niners do hire Payton since he still has two years remaining in his contract.

The report is if we want Payton it will cost us a first round pick. No thanks. 4th is the highest I am willing to part for him. And no to Chip Kelly. His offensive scheme sucks in the NFL. Our team would have to change out its entire offensive line again.

that's not true. that's just speculation. most likely it be a 2nd to 4th round pick.

#49ers interest in Payton is clear but I'm told he will not come cheap - it would cost them a 1st rounder

Chip Kelly reaches out to the 49ers

If he comes here, Sickness is going to have a meltdown, because I think that might increase Kaepernick's chances of remaining here.

On a related note, guess who just jumped on the Chip Kelly bandwagon? Purguy12. Just kidding.

Kawakami: Jed York and Trent Baalke nowhere to be found when Jim Tomsula's firing is announced

Kawakami brings up several good points. After the Harbaugh debacle and the dumb move of hiring Tomsula last year, is there a potential candidate who wants to be a part of this organization? Jed an Trent were no where to be seen yesterday. These two are both cowards. Maybe the new head coach will have more say on personnel especially on the offensive side. Potential candidates are going to be leery about how this front office is so dysfunctional.

Sickness said he wants Chip Kelly. Purguy said he didn't want Chip Kelly.

I'd go with Sean Payton or Hue Jackson. Chip I'm pretty leery of. I think as a coach he did fine, but his personnel moves doomed his team. So if he wanted personnel power that's a deal breaker I would think. The main thing I'm leery of though is the rumors coming out of Philly is that he's not really a people person and didn't get along with players and we don't need that.

I wouldn't give up a 1st or 2nd for Payton at all. Especially with not how high we're picking. I'd also let him be the decider if he wants Kap around or not. If Payton says he can rebuild Kap, then great. If not, then time to move on.
