Yeah hopefully he can. We know how great he can be if he stays healthy. You just gotta worry that back problems and a blown out knee before 25...might catch up with him. I just hope he can stay healthy because he's one of the best when he is.

Of course no player can prevent the cheap shot (see TJ Ward). On Nov 2 I hope Gronk gives that piece of shit what he deserves in Foxboro.

Going for the knees is and alwways has been a cheap shot. It may not be the career ending injury it once was, but it's still a cheap shot.

I guess my question for you is what is he supposed to do in that situation as a player? First off Gronk has him outweighed by quite a bit so if he goes high there is a good chance that Gronk just runs him over or if he does knock him down gets fined by the NFL for a high hit. My coaches always told us when we faced the bigger stronger RB's in high school that the best way to get them down is go lower and take the legs out from under them.

I mean I do understand the whole low hit thing sucks and players hate it. The NFL though continues to tell them to go low or be fined or even suspended. I guess I blame the league more than I do the player these days for such injuries.

Players are much more afraid of taking hits to the knees versus hits to the head. A knee injury could be season ending. A concussion you may miss a game or two. Aside from the fact the head injuries have consequences down the road they would rather deal with high hits than low hits.

Brady loves playing against Revis in practice... States it will help him even more. Which is nice

I know players have said that. This is why again I blame the league for the low hits not the player. Say Ward goes high on Gronk on that play and they make helmet to helmet contact or even if the refs question whether they hit heads. Next thing you know it is a 15 yard penalty (hurts the team) plus the player gets a big fine (hurts him and his family). So because of this players have chosen to go lower which has lead to the most ACL, Achilles, MCL, and whatever other leg injuries there are in NFL history. It wasn't meant to be a cheap shot or try to injure him. It was a player playing within the rules that have been established for him.

Seriously? TJ was coming at him from the side. Gronk was up right. How hard is it to wrap him up around the hips? Your body will trip him up. Tackle successful.

If the tackled happened a half second earlier and Gronk hadn't planted his foot yet, it would have been a clean play and an effective tackle.

I could accept it if he tried to wrap his arms around Gronk's legs. But he just threw his body into the side of his knee.
Not just TJ, not just Gronk. Cheesy play that is all it is.
I would say the same thing if it was Revis or Chung or McCourty.

Cheap shot.

I actually think the league could enforce hits at the knee as well. I think players who claim they couldn't tackle any other way are full of it. There still might be knee injuries but certain types of tackles are almost sure knee injuries.
