I don't know anything about the show cause thing, but can that come with sanctions to the school outside of the coach being required to sit 5 games? Maybe we got that eliminated by saying he'll sit the year. I think that is highly unlikely and looks really sketchy but that was my thought when I first read it.

Because it was time for Pelini to go. It's as simple as that. The program was third tier at best and not showing improvement. It's time to give someone else an opportunity to improve the program above third tier.

There is literally no such thing as a "Slam Dunk Hire" in football at any level. Some coaches are certainly more consistent than others, some are better at big games than others, but every coach is a gamble in one form or another.

Yeah you're right...like I said, I don't know anything about the show cause, and that does sound like a train wreck waiting to happen. Not something that Eichorst, who has been very calculated with everything he's done, would bet his job on.
