Stafford 1st round draft pick from Rams now in the 3rd position
Gonna need Chicago to beat Detroit in order for the Rams pick to be #2.

Bears have a bitch of a schedule ahead of them besides the game against us and a game against GB. They’re going to have strength of schedule tie breaker.

Vikings game to end the season could be another shot for a Chicago win. Assuming Minny has nothing to play for.

I like this one, but would prefer a CB earlier.

Detroit wins out against the division and that last game becomes the difference in taking the NFC North. Don’t look now, but Vikings usually lose going to Chicago.

Silly to think the Lions could still have their cake and eat it, too, this year, getting a top five draft pick while going to the playoffs as a division winner.

C.J. Stroud, QB, Ohio State (redshirt sophomore)

6-foot-2, 218 pounds
Consensus ranking (via The Athletic): QB1 (No. 2 overall)
Opponent: Michigan (3) at 12:00 p.m. ET on FOX

A pure pocket passer, Stroud has some mobility to his game, but he would prefer to stay in the pocket and rely on his accuracy to move the football. His accuracy may be his best trait, as he consistently puts the football in tight windows at all three levels. When Stroud can maintain a rhythm, he will slice through defenses and rack up the stats.

My concerns with Stroud center around two issues: his lack of creativity when things get out of sync and his lack of composure under pressure. These are common flaws in a lot of NFL quarterbacks, so the real question will be, does he have the ability to overcome these issues, or will they plague him throughout his NFL career?

As a Lions fan, if those flaws remind you of Jared Goff, then you’re not alone. The Athletics’ draft expert Dane Brugler has been comparing Stroud to Goff recently:

I am seriously in the boat of load the ever living hell up on the best defenders we can get, maybe an o-line or 2 and a wr. Then grab Grayson mccall as a project and grab a vet like geno smith. Make a nasty defense, a QB who doesnt make a ton of mistakes and groom the QB of the future for 2 yrs

There is not one QB in this draft that screams great to me. Joe Burrow screamed great to me, Justin Fields I thought would be very good, same with Trevor.

Agree.

And there's no logical sense in retaining Goff past this season even if it means absorbing his 5M bonus and 2-5M of his 2023 20M base salary. Goff's best value in a trade will be this upcoming off-season even if it's only a 2023 3rd round and maybe a conditional 2024 4th round that could become a 3rd or even 2nd round based on performance.

Obviously, Holmes would have to sign a different QB in the 2023 free agency. Maybe Smith, but I doubt it as Seattle more than likely re-signs him or possibly Brissett or Mariota.

Holmes should draft a QB in 2023 - i.e., McCall and another in 2024. Whoever wins the starting job between those two draft selections then the other becomes the backup.

Bruglar from the Athletic has us drafting Jalen Carter and Joey Porter. Way too early and it'll change dozens of times between now and end of April 2023.

I'm all aboard the Jalen Carter train or even Will Anderson should he somehow be available.
Pretty much any of the CB's Ringo, Smith, Gonzalez, Porter, Witherspoon would be a welcomed addition to that group.

To go along with draft, is there any shot we could pull Love from green bay? Without mortgaging the future
