Torterella says the hit on Boyle from Neil is the same as the 25 game suspension blow torres delivered to hossa.

I would have liked to see another angle. Did look like a high hit but I would have to say inconclusive from that vid.

and it was 0.3 of a second after the puck was gone.
line for "late hit" is generally .5 sec. Torres' was 0.8 sec.

it's not clear if he left his feet, kind of Kronwalled him (zoomed in ass-first). looks like he may have jumped a bit.
Torts says Boyle is concussed.
head didn't look to be main point of contact.

so hard to tell.

Looked to be pretty clean to me.

-Not really that late
-Didn't look like he left his feet (a better angle would be nice though)
-Didn't look like a headshot to me

Also Torres has been suspended before while Neil hasn't. Still would like to see better angles though.

I thought the same if you see the other angle boyle is skating head down and it doesnt appear to be late or targeted

Just a solid hit. I'm guessing the concussion came either from whiplash or his head hitting the ice.

I don't see a lot of difference between that and hits that have been highly suspendable.

and there-in lies the problem with the wheel of justice

If Boyle plays, small fine
If Boyle is out, 5 games

Because the results and aftermath of a hit matter so much more than the act itself or intention of in the whacky bizzaro world of NHL justice. If you have a strong jaw/head, your agressor is off the hook. If you are a glass-jaw or crosby-noggin' sort, your agressor gets the gate.

Neil has been head-hunting the entire series and his punk attitude must be considered when reviewing this incident.

My guess is because of the inconsistent Shanahan, this will be ignored.
