ND going to need to control the clock the entire game like they did in the 2H vs Ohio St to have a chance but they haven’t looked the same since

That’s what ND will try to do but I think shortening the game against USC may not actually compute. USC scores with better efficiency than ND so if you shorten the game with the run game you run the risk of settling for field goals. In that attack, you just need to get behind the chains once on a drive and it can stall out. Instead, ND should be looking to exploit the USC defense with a balanced attack and look for splash plays. I don’t like USC’s tackling or the sureness of how they play their scheme with all 11 working as one to do their job on the same play. When I’ve watched them, they’ve often had defensive break downs. A defensive break down in the run game gets you a 20 yard game. A defensive mistake vs pass will often result in a TD.
