Yes and no. The QB is definitely over protected. However, they also end up in situations where they are a "defenseless player" more than any other player.

So I do agree with some extra rules to protect them.

I do think though that often times the refs follow the "letter of the law" when they should be following the "spirit of the law". We've all seen calls made because the QB was "hit in the head" only to see on replay that the defenders arm or hand grazed the helmet.

I get it, they don’t want the marquee players hurt. But I saw one last week where an olineman blocked a guy into the qb and he got sacked wirh what looked like a perfect tackle. Official rules the hit was too low when it really looked like he wrapped him up around the waist. That’s too much.

Yep. that's another good example. Hit was probably low enough to technically be illegal based on the letter of the law, when the spirit of the law is that they don't want players hitting a guys knee.

My dumbass dumpster dives with defense in fantasy football every year adding and dropping a defense weekly on what’s available based on matchups. My dumb fucking ass decided to fade the Bears offense this week haha. I scored -3 points. That’s right. I would have been better off just not playing a defense at all than playing the Commanders last night lol.
