Ohtani is more likely to be traded now.

I'd rather you guys trade for him than just sign him without giving up assets

I'd rather just get him in the off-season, but the pitching staff has been decimated. It's an actual need right now. lol

Since you're gonna get him anyway I hope you have to give up talent for this year

Just saw that Dustin May is going to have season ending surgery.

Now they really need him.
I think the whole league is convinced he’s going to sign with the Dodgers anyway. That should keep the haul that you’d have to send the Angels somewhat reasonable. I can’t see teams taking the risk of sending 4 of their top 6 farm assets plus likely an every day young player that’s controllable just to have Ohtani leave this winter. That’s one expensive rental. The calculus changes if Ohtani’s agent and the Angels can allow a team considering trade to enter preliminary contract talks with Ohtani and get an extension done before the end of the season. To be honest, I don’t even know if that’s allowed though.

@trojanfan12 @msgkings322 @bksballer89 @WiggyRuss cant remember if there are any other baseball fans out there that post here. Any crap…I posted this on the MLB forum but figured I would post it here. My friends and I play a game online called Immaculate Grid. It’s similar to like a Wordle style daily puzzle. You have 9 boxes to fill in, each with a vertical and horizontal axis directing you to what criteria a baseball player has to be in order to fit the grid. Here’s the link to the game if you want to play.

Here’s an example of one I did from a few days ago to give you an idea of how to play.

Has Derek Carr ever won a playoff game? I guess he could pull a Flacco or Foles and show up and win the whole thing but schedule only gets you seeding. They don’t have better rosters than the Eagles Cowboys Niners and maybe even Detroit. I don’t see any scenario where they’re in the Super Bowl representing the NFC. Hot take artists throwing shit at the wall for clicks.

It would be fun, all of his batting would be invalidated, but he would get no leeway for pitching in the exact same stadium. Ohtani overnight would be viewed as an average player.

Yeah i wouldn't go that far. My expectations for them is win the division and win a home playoffs game. Everything after that would be icing on the cake

They’ve been playing great baseball. I have no idea why this is because he’s the antithesis of a lead off hitter, but since they put Kyle Schwarber back in the one hole, they’re on a 21-8 run. Biggest difference has been the starting pitching starting to perform in June when they were poor in April and May. Too many innings last year for Nola and Wheeler pitching into November. Led to a light spring training and they essentially used regular season April games as spring training. Nola is still hit or miss.

Want to see them deal for another starter and a LF RH power bat. I want a starter like Burnes from the Brewers. Ideally, they invest in a dude like that to be the two going forward and they let Nola walk this winter. The LF power bat can be a short term rental. Harper’s elbow leaves him unable to play OF this year but they have been working him out at 1B. He could go there after the All Star break. Harper to 1B, Schwarber to DH (he’s been a butcher in Left) and the short term rental to LF.

Tijuan Walker has been a pleasant surprise. He was voted the worst contract from this past winter by MLB GMs and the Phil’s are 16-3 in his starts.
