Stood 10 toes down and won
I don’t think anybody “won” this one. This seems to be exactly where both parties were this past summer. But all along the way the relationship between the player and organization has been damaged.

The Ravens heard the Niners were interested and suddenly a deal was done.

LOL.

Grudgingly offering congrats on Carter @fightinfunbags. I wanted him so bad.

Not super upset we took Wilson since it's good to have a bunch of pass rushers with all the signal callers in the West.....

But, damn.....we could have plugged Carter in at 1 of the DT spots with Crosby and Chandler at the edges....
Eagles let Hargraves walk to the tune of 4 years 88 million. They replace him with the best player in the draft falling to them at 9 and he will make roughly $25 million over 5 years. Eagles are playing chess with everyone else playing checkers. 30th pick Nolan Smith is a perfect complement to Redick on the other side. He’s a guy that if Carter is off the board and the Eagles take him at 10, I’m still pleased today. They got him at 30!

My last wish is for them to take the 62nd pick and the 66th pick and trade up to 35-36 if Brian Branch is still on the board. In my eyes, he’s the 2nd best DB in this class behind Witherspoon and he plays a position of need for the Eagles as well.

Fell asleep with the last few picks.

You got Nolan also? Nice.

Wilson had me betwixt and between in assessing him. 50 QB pressures is incredible last season. At the same time, the quality of OT he worked against leaves a lot to be desired. This pick could have produced a perennial double digit sack guy or he could be a bust. A high risk, high reward pick. Hope it works out for you guys.

How come Nolan fell so far?
Positional fit maybe? Seems to be kind of a tweener and he had some injuries in college as well that kept him off the field.

Did KC score with that DE?

NOt sure I know who that is.
I mean…maybe? Personally, I am not a fan of drafting Big 12 defense so maybe I’m biased. Didn’t really love that pick for them but not sure what else was there for them.

You know they have these things called combines where individual players are evaluated right? You are talking years ago, offense dominates pretty much everywhere now. Look at SEC scores.

I evaluate with my eyes and things haven’t changed. When I watch a Big 12 game I see defenses that can’t shed blocks, tackle well, utilize the concept of leverage, compete on the edges, etc…. Shit, some of the schemes are just unsound in what they give up getting out numbered and out flanked just by alignment. Doesn’t mean that you can’t find NFL defensive talent from the Big 12. You just know that they will have been poorly coached and poorly developed.

My friend is connected with the Titans. He said they were ready to give up on him after training camp last year.
Is this the same guy who you reference when you give us the QB info or is that another guy?
