Let’s count the ways:
1. Get a much needed unearned bye week last week
2. Avoid Bengals to instead get the Jags. Bengals have won 3 in a row against the Chiefs
3. Instead of potentially having to go to Buffalo next week they instead go to Atlanta for a neutral site dome game.

The Chiefs were granted a huge advantage. It’s so crazy that an uninvolved team benefitted so much from a crazy situation in the Bengals Bills game.

The Chiefs weren’t the team who got lucky in week 17.

It was the Bills.

Bills would have been the 3 seed if they lost that game. Week 17 was a must win for them.

Now, they get Cincy at home and KC at a nuetral site, now possibly with a hobbled Mahomes.

And week 17 was a no sweat.

Sure, they don’t get the ideal spot as the 1 seed that they could have earned, but realistically, the given scenario provides the Bills a higher probability of getting to the Super Bowl than actually having to play week 17 would have.

Because losing that game would have made it extremely difficult.
