Isn’t that what he’s doing? He played this year at great risk to him. What he’s not doing is going out to risk a more serious recovery situation by going out and playing on an injured knee that’s less than 100%.
I think your characterization is hyperbole. Nobody has demonized the Ravens. It’s telling that you’re pussing out and not naming names.
We don’t know the extent of the injury. Don’t you think it’s sketchy at best? Teams are required by rule to list players injuries. The Ravens are having to be weird about it at this point. I wonder why?

He also only has one playoff win. He also has needs a scheme perfectly fit around him to make it work. This isn't a normal QB that can play in a traditional spread. Looking over his career, his MVP is a huge outlier. Sure, he COULD have been offered a fully guaranteed contract but not likely. I'm sure anything is possible. We have to be realistic. The Ravens offered him more than Wilson guaranteed money which is probably around 55-65% on a long-term deal. Nobody is close to that except Rodgers but he is on a short-term deal.
No, I don’t have an ax to grind with the business of sports. I don’t have latent pent up jealousy because athletes make a lot of money like you do, so I have no reason to distrust the player “just because”. Additionally, as a sports fan I know it’s uncommon for a player with a knee injury to get back on the field inside of 5-6 weeks. That seems entirely plausible to me so I have no reason to question that.

Dak Prescott hasn’t had playoff success and he got paid. You guys paid Watson and he has little playoff success. The reality is that QB is a sellers market not a buyer’s market. Lamar bet on himself as players do.
It makes no sense from a gambling perspective. That’s why I think it was an attempt to launder money.

I think it’s weird though that without examining his knee you apparently know that he could have played this weekend and that he’s selfish because he didn’t. That’s what I’m disagreeing with…this assumption that the guy could have and should have played. Not your knee. Not your livelihood.
Agreed. Watson hasn’t played football in 2 years and he’s a horrible citizen. Lamar Jackson has never embarrassed his family and the organizations that he represents the way Watson has. I don’t think in the end he will be losing. What the Ravens offered will still be available to him on the open market. In a league where guys like Prescott and Watson make $40 million, $40 million will be available to Lamar.
Yep. Also, couldn’t you argue that there are as many as 7-10 franchises that are just as desperate for anything that could become a franchise QB they can build around? There’s a dearth of guys like that in the NFL. It’s become one of the most highly paid positions in sports because of it. In a league that offers very little in the way of guaranteed contacts, we have seen that start to become the norm in QB negotiations.
That doesn’t mean those organizations will go full on retard like the Browns did. It wouldn’t surprise me if collusion accusations don’t come at some point, because I think the rest of the league will be pretty United against what the Browns did. We shall see I guess.
