OSU got thoroughly outplayed in the 4th Q. I have a hard time saying “should have lost” when that’s the case.

I agree and that would be why I said UGA still deserves a ton of credit for coming back.

Though make what looked to be the correct call and think we get more than 3. Oh well.....have to say I've never been a fan of the targeting rule other than for the worst of the worst.

Nah, at the point you are up 40 and there is no need for a comeback you run the ball and kick FG's. There is absolutely no point in running up the score other than trying to show up the opponent and acting like you are so dominant. They were just pissed off about the last game so they wanted to make a point. I get it but at that point you are beating a dead horse. It's like up 50 points on a 10 year old.

Yeah, with that kind of lead, you start emptying your bench and go more vanilla on offense.

If by coaching you mean being unable to turn 3rd string OL into 1st string? Teams historically slip after a championship, and the Rams had a lot of injuries. They used something like 10 different OL configs through the first 10 weeks.

Did I knock Payton? Again, putting words in my mouth. I merely stated that the difference in Brees' performance from SD to NO that first year was largely due to better OL play (fewer sacks, more pass attempts).
