And for the record I think the Ridley suspension was ridiculous.

For betting.

Watson accused of something more serious, it's going to be bad. Not 60 games, but at least 16, maybe 20-25 after appeal.

Wow do you just make it up as it suits you. an admission of guilt? I mean, it's possible the NFL told him to settle and he'll get a lesser suspension.

So, looks like there was pressure to settle.

Apparently, when he was negotiating with Miami, they told him he had to settle and it was suggested he would pay them 100k each.

According to CBS sports, Watson did not want to settle and wanted no parts of a NDA.

So, there is that.

I don't expect anyone to take my word on this.

I get it, but at the same time you better believe he is going to say it wasn’t his idea to settle. Just what people do.

Objective sailed when you run out of fingers AND toes to count up the number of allegations. Not sure to what extent lines were crossed but with that many instances of smoke there’s definitely fire and lines were crossed with females. End of that story for me.

What is a “lesser suspension”? Calvin Ridley got a year for gambling on football. My official call is in this thread. I was saying he gets a year and when he appeals it becomes something more akin to 8-12 games. That’s a pretty substantial suspension.

I think lesser would possibly be 4-6 games or even less.

I kind of think it might be worse if "only" 1 or a few. This comes across as a bunch of women taking their shot with nothing to lose.

For sure there are some in the group that are hangers on and riding that wave. But that’s only maybe 5? 6? It’s not likely it’s all 24 or whatever it is.

My Wawa (convenience store in Philly NJ primarily) has a karate spot across the street. Just stopped in for my Diet Dr Pepper and smokes and there’s a grown ass man all decked out in karate shit looking like fat Daniel Larusso. Dude could probably kick my ass but didn’t stop me from laughing. Hilarious sight.

Sounds like Watson didn’t want an NDA so there is the possibility down the line that someone tells their story.

No idea. Sounds off. Any good lawyer would recommend the NDA. The NDA keeps these women from selling their story. At that point, they can collude together to say whatever they want and then he’s forced to address it again and call them liars. At that point, who knows where the Twitter mob goes on a guy lashing back at what is deemed to be victims of sexual assault because of the settlements. It was always a questionable decision from where I sit.

Honestly to me the 66 therapists in less than a year number says more to me than that 24 number. It’s obvious what he was looking for, and that he got careless.

Not sure what info is coming from where. What I’ve seen reported is that Watson didn’t want to settle and that he definitely didn’t want an NDA. For his sake, I hope his lawyer’s advice prevailed. That’s just bad business because you project the unknown into the public sphere that could harm a public figure who counts on image for his livelihood. Again, I’m assuming that any solid attorney would recommend an NDA.

Makes zero sense unless he’s super cheap. You pay high end ho’s when you have that kind of money. Not likely to be skanks and you’re paying for discretion. They make nice bank. They aren’t going to risk that to tell tales for money.

as mentioned, I could see not wanting an NDA if the settlement was really low. He'd probably like to be able to say what it was (or have Hardin) if it were something like $20K each give or take a little.
