Not a lot of hope for him being a stud QB but no doubt he has not been in a good situation.

He's in one of the worst situations in the league. He's gonna have a rough season.

@Mecca if you need a good laugh - go listen to Pat Barry interview with Ariel Hawani regarding Rose's fight. It's the most incoherent batshit stupid interview you'll ever hear.
I shall....

@WiggyRuss @dtgold88 how about this fleecing? Clevinger has been hurt for a year and a half and Indians a lot of young guys in this trade. Arias could probably be the best of the bunch too and that's saying a lot

Guardians usually do pretty great in these trades.

This was true last year- but I read that since Francona has managed the Indians- the Indians have the most wins in the American League during the regular season with a payroll that is always low.

Its obviously due to excellent scouting and excellent development- especially on the pitching side.

The thing that I am most impressed with this year is that they finally have got some talented young bats. Naylor looks solid. Miller looks solid. Gimenez has been hitting great. Kwan looks solid. All of a sudden they are developing position players and that has been sorely needed for a while. Other than Ramirez and Lindor they really have not done a great job at developing position players.

Now their pitching development has been incredible.

Think about all the deals and development.

-Traded Jake Westrbrook for a guy named Corey Kluber--- Kluber becomes one of the best pitchers in baseball. Then traded Kluber for Clase- traded Kluber at the exact right time for a young cheap controllable fireballer who is already one of the top 5 or so closers in the game.

-Traded nothing for Clevinger-- got him for a washed Vinnie Pestano- and then deal Clevinger for that absolute haul.

-Traded for Bauer for 1 year of Shin Soo Choo- and then got some great seasons out of Bauer and dealt him for Franmil.

-an underrated deal is trading a couple of decent relievers to the Astros for Shaw- who is one of the best glove center fielders in the game and a solid leadoff man with speed and about a .350 obp.

Even when they traded players who worked out for the teams to where they were dealt - like Lee, Colon and CC - we got some really good players back. colon actually brought us back Lee, along with Sizemore and Phillips. One of only mistakes might have been giving up on Phillips due to attitude. Got Carrasco in the Lee deal.

Be nice if we could get a stud OF in one of these deals....though the OF looks better than expected (still needs some pop).

Well, they traded Brown and then drafted Willis and Tanny says he isn't there to mentor anybody.

Not ideal.

Don't forget they added Bobby Trees...very different than AJ, but as (or more) valuable to the entire offense IMO.

Tannehill may not be, but he will likely be gone after this season if Willis develops. Titans can cut Tannehill next Spring and save half of his cap hit ($18M in savings). If he doesn't develop, he's a third round pick as a QB, not a lot of pressure.

I like Williams and Olave more than Burks.

As or more valuable than Brown? LOL.

...but at least Nagy is gone.

I remember watching PTI during last season and how often Michael Wilbon ripped him. And rightfully so. Nagy wasn't a good HC.

Yeah OF has been the huge question mark for years now but likely developing guys in minor and through deals makes for a pretty good outfield. Naylor was a guy that needed to show promise this year.

Kwan, Straw, Naylor, Mercado, Rosario. Not bad considering what they've had for some time.

Forgot to mention Brantley was part of the CC deal.

Those 5 for sure look better than expected. Feel like we could use a masher, still, but guess does not need to be from the OF. Figure Gonzalez will get his shot when they know he'll play. Doesn't make sense to bring him up and sit him.

Fuck.

The Raiders traded for Stidham. Exchange of late round draft picks.

RGIII said Washington is a sleeper SB team.
