I am willing to bet the NFL knows what they need to know right now. Civil proceedings are relatively minor in terms of information, people can say whatever they want to say.

what could they really find out? Ask one side they say he did it. Ask the other they say he didn't. He could continue to say he didn't do it and wont settle....then later settle.

No doubt ownership of the Tribe deserves little to no credit (other than sticking with the FO he mostly inherited). FO has been exceptional considering their limitations.

Getting outspent by the Reds who already traded away most of their players of value is a bad sign.

Then if for example Watson were to win the cases...and they hand him a one year suspension beforehand? All of that makes zero sense and a headache for the NFL pulling a quick trigger on a suspension. Cannot recall who said it but said NFL does not want to influence his case in any way. No suspension could help Watson's case while suspending him could help the plaintiffs.

I don't think this is necessarily the case. The NFL has had situations in the past where players have been cleared of or not charged with crimes, but the NFL has suspended them because their investigation found a violation of NFL rules.

The problem for the NFL is that once they hand out the suspension and it has been served, they can't change it. So, if they suspended for 6 games, he serves it and then something comes out in one of the trials that shows he deserved a longer suspension...I don't think they can re-suspend him.
