So you took praise for the Dodgers' pitching staff directed at Wiggy who dismissed the Dodgers pitching heading into the season as an attack on the Indians pitching? A bet sensitive, perhaps?

The Indians only spending $64M is their choice; you don't get brownie points for frugality. League average is $147M. Cleveland is 4th from the bottom with the glorious Pirates, A's and Orioles; not exactly the neighborhood you want to stay in long.

Not comparing them at all just an example. An example why they need a floor and a ceiling. Why? Bc of piss poor, shit owners, like Dolan, that are unwilling to spend...will spend and guys that have too much money spend make it more of a level playing field. Why do other sports have rules and MLB doesn't? It's absolutely it's an unfair advantage. BTW I am pissed but more at Dolan for not spending.

Trying? Dolan has been like this for decades. It's why they didn't pay Manny and let him walk. It has actually benefitting them in certain cases though like trading SP's with injury issues that cost way too much. They acquire prospects in return and it has worked out, like the Clevinger deal.

It started last offseason, 2021, Lindor and Carrasco then the Clevinger deal was at the trade deadline in 2020, I believe. Last trade deadline it was Hernandez and Rosario. At least they picked up Myles Straw in a little deal.

Indians ended the year with a $50M payroll last season so at least it is climbing a bit lol.

Other than a couple years in the late 00's they have been bottom 10 or bottom 5 in payroll basically the last 20 years. It's disgusting. Obviously the number varies from year to year. Yeah only the last couple years during Covid they have been very low. For awhile they were in the low 100's.

No doubt ownership of the Tribe deserves little to no credit (other than sticking with the FO he mostly inherited). FO has been exceptional considering their limitations.

are times I can understand not spending in our market. But we cannot even keep up with MN, Milwaukee and the Reds in a contending window? why even own a team?

Really doesn't make much sense that one team could earn 5X as much as another for the same game being televised. I mean, with the team being paid less for the TV rights there is no game to be played.

No doubt when we do trade players we often make out. FO seems to be exceptional in scouting young talent on other teams.

They have showed a pulse in one offseason since Dolan bought the team in the early 2000s. after the WS season we spent around $130 mil for a couple seasons and attendance spiked by nearly 30%.

and of course the JRam deal. I credit JRam almost 100% for that one for what he gave up to sign. some credit to Dolan as was still a big deal.

More players need to realize they are in control and not the agents. If you want to stay tell the agent to get it done and don't be pressured by him to get the last dollar. Blow out your arm and not make it to that next deal the agent has many other clients to fall back on so he'll be OK (why he doesn't mind waiting).

I agree with this. He should be allowed to play in 2022 and when this is settled.....suspend him for whatever amount of games in 2023.

seems he just got a win of sorts as the judge ordered the alleged victims to turn over their medical and mental health records.

with pretty much nothing expected to happen now until April, 2023, not sure on what basis they'd suspend him at this point.
