I think it was Colin Cowherd who was talking recently about "quiet teams" vs. "loud teams".

He used the Browns in one of his examples. He said that in Bakers first couple of seasons, the Browns were "loud" with their talking, Bakers commercials, answering every sleight or criticism and they were losing.

This year, they bring in Stefanski and the Browns got "quiet" and started winning.

That applied yesterday, imo. The loud team got beat by the quiet one.

He said that? Well damn. That's one of the very few times I can remember agreeing with something Cowherd has said over the years.

Anything like that's wrong. But I gotta agree with you. Example- Ray Rice KO-ing his girlfirend/wife in that elevator was worse.
Honestly i can't blame Hunt for trying to get fired up for next Sunday. It's a playoff game fer fuck sake. he's just using the wrong fuel for it imo...

Damn. The Browns hadn't won a road playoff since 1969.

And they put an end to the Steelers NFL record 73 straight games with a sack.

Kyrie sitting out yet again for so called personal reasons. This is a perfect example of why he'll never be a leader on the court. The Nets are already missing KD. This was his opportunity to step up and put the team on his shoulders while the # 1 option can't play. Instead by sitting out he's showing it's still all about him and not about the team.

Agree but KD played last night

My bad on that one then. I know he was out. Didn't know he returned.
He scored like 36 points too, but they still lost because their defense is terrible. I have to concede I ranked them too highly before the season started, now that I see how they defend I can't see them as top contenders. Losing Dinwiddie hurt too.

Guess I shouldn't be surprised a Nash/Dantoni coached team can't defend LOL

Don’t fall into the trap.

Even without Dinwiddie the Nets are the most talented team in the East.

We won’t really know who they are until the playoffs start.

They might be serious underachievers, but don’t rule them out today.

Dantoni seems to be allergic to defense. And we all remember what kind of lockdown defender Nash was.

I'm ruling them out due to being bad defensively. Maybe that changes but I doubt enough to get to the Finals

You've said yourself Kyrie's stats aren't necessarily winning stats

Yes, and I believe that.

I also think KD + the other talented guys on the roster is potentially a really good group even without Kyrie.

A KD/Kyrie led team is likely to mail in regular season games on the regular. That probably catches up to them later, but not necessarily.

Yeah, their defense is bad.

I could see a team like the Sixers beating them.....they solved some problems by getting Rivers, Curry, and Green.....they have some nice outside shooting.

Obviously after the fact but if you told me we'd have all the issues we did AND the replacement to the replacement at guard would go down as well as Conklin would have thought Baker's gonna have a rough night.

Pretty big game tonight too - Cavs/Memphis

It really is amazing. This is Dan Orlovsky, on ESPN with Rex and Ryan Clark, saying how "it's the most impressive win I've ever seen".

Just a full accounting on this Monday before we move onto the Chiefs.

-no head coach
-missing 4 assistant head coaches
-a talent like OBJ missing- something that would seriously damage a lot of teams
-a talent like Olivier Vernon missing at DE- who had been awesome the 2nd half of the season
-a talent like Denzel Ward missing- easily a top 10 corner, maybe top 5 when healthy
-a talent like Joel Bitonio missing- easily a top 5 guard in the league
-missing their last 2 2nd round picks that were supposed to be starters in the defensive backfield- Delpit and Greedy- 2 guys who many thought were first round talents
-missing Kevin Johnson- their 3rd corner- so they were missing their top 3 corners in this game
-Jake Conklin- one of the best right tackles in football- gets hurt in the first half and doesnt come back- they put in their third string tackle against shoe-in Defensive Player of the Year Watt.
-replacing Bitonio is the 4th string guard (Harrison their backup was hurt- and Harris- the 3rd string guard was hurt)
-the 4th string guard gets hurt- and they replace him with a guy that BAKER MET THAT DAY that last played in the XFL!
-since the Jets game- 3 weeks ago- they had barely practiced because of COVID- their facility was shut down over 3/4 of the time.

you can build a helluva core of a roster with OBJ, Vernon, Ward, Bitonio, Conklin, Johnson, Delpit and Greedy- and have a very good young coach at the helm in Stefanski....and they werent available for a playoff game against a 12-4 team on the ROAD in primetime- in Baker's first playoff start!

with a 3rd string tackle and a 4th string (and then a 5th string guard) they prevented the Steelers from getting ANY sacks- the team that led the NFL in sacks during the entire year. That is Baker being prepared and pulling the fucking trigger and being decisive.

Put on top- the Browns had not won in Pittsburgh in SEVENTEEN YEARS!!!! Seventeen years. That is truly just unbelievable.

Baker played like one of the best QB's in the Wild Card round. He outplayed guys like Wilson, Tannehill, Rivers, Goff, Rothlisberger, and was just as good as Brady, Jackson, Allen.

Divisional weekend picks

Rams over Packers (if Donald is playing)
Ravens over Bills- I don't think the Bills can stop the run which will be the death of them
Chiefs over Browns
Saints over Bucs
