They also got Jacob Eason.

You like the draft they had?

I don't think anyone is expecting anything out of him.

I really like what they did. They addressed several needs (o-line, RB, secondary) and didn't "reach" trying to get a QB.

They're going to do well to win 5 games this season, but they should have a bunch of cap space going into 2023 and they have extra picks next year (including 2 first rounders). If they play their cards right, they could be right back in the mix (at least the playoff mix) in 2023.

I think they'll end up getting Mayfield later this summer. Teams are just waiting for the price to drop and since he wasn't dealt during the draft.....it's for sure gonna drop now.

Steelers declined Bush's 5th year option. That guy was declared the next HOF Steeler LB LOL

Steelers have let better walk. Not sure why we are laughing at the Steelers and the way they make choices in players. They evaluate that position really well.

I was thinking that too, but I'm not certain anymore.

The next 2 QB drafts are supposed to be really good and they're looking at having a lot of cap space going into 2023. While I wouldn't hate the idea of them getting Baker. It would suck if they got him, then one or more of the QB's in upcoming drafts ends up being better, they could end up regretting signing Baker.

Especially since they could have the new QB on a rookie deal.

They basically did the same thing to get themselves to 2 Super Bowls. Drafted well, signed the right FA's and had Wilson on a rookie deal. The only difference was that they had just signed Matt Flynn back then because no one knew Wilson would be that good.

They could always trade a 4th or 5th in next April's draft for Mayfield (let's assume the Browns eat half his salary for next season) and he'd be better than what you have.....might keep you in the hunt for a WC spot. If he plays well and you don't want to pay him, let walk and draft a QB. He'll have given you solid QB play and you didn't trade much and half his salary isn't a bad price to pay for a QB.

Just because you trade for him doesn't mean you have to keep him long term.

Don't really know that much about him. Three years in the league. Won DROY. Only played five games his second season. And wasn't anything spectacular last season. He'll be 24 this summer. But he's a good example of why it's a bad idea most of the time to put very high expectations on first year players.

Problem is though, with Baker, they likely aren't drafting low enough to get one of the top QB's in the draft.

At this point, the only way I see them going after Baker is if they decide that between their draft and some FA deals, they can be in position to be in the mix for a deep playoff run.

They could be lying, but it looks like the Seahawks are gonna roll with Geno Smith and Drew Lock and go after a QB in next years draft.

I think that is smart.

Because rolling with those QBs pretty much guarantees few wins.

They should also throw the ball 80% of the time to make sure.

This is some funny stuff.

There's been a Stephon Marbury sighting. Remember him? At one time he was literally eating Vaseline in videos.

Well he has an issue with this Screamin' A. 's comment about Kyrie. "We are witnessing one of the most delusional athletes in American history."

So Starbury said. "We are witnessing one of the biggest uncle tom's on the planet in @--stephen.a.smith"

Wonder if SAS will have something to say? I kinda hope so.

For this specific player I will laugh all I want bc he isn't that good, they traded up 10 spots to grab him in the 1st. He was declared a HOFr by Steeler fans.

Drew Lock would be a bad choice for your Seahawks. I watched him his three years in Denver. He had every opportunity to win the starting job but couldn't. The one year he was the starter for 13 games he was 4-9 with 15 int's and 8 fumbles. His decision making was always questionable.

You know I could defend the Steelers fans for saying that about Bush after his rookie year. But I won't.

@LogicMan @Gman and anyone else

I don't follow salaries or team caps but I was wondering.

If Gobert won't be in Utah next season is there any realistic way he could end up in Boston and move Williams to the PF?
They have a max or close to that available. But not sure this is the guy.

Sounds like the guy they need to get them in position to draft a top QB next year.

Thought maybe he & Williams would be a good 1-2 punch on the defensive end. That's the only reason I mentioned it.

If that's what they're going for then yes. It's not like the Broncos skill position players on offense are has-beens or something. He's a decent back up. But not really starting material.

That's putting it mildly. I wouldn't start Lock on my Madden team...
