So then why all the pushback?

I have watched him play once. Not claiming to be an expert on his game. The comparison that I keep hearing is KD. Mike Dunleavy played the exact same position as KD.

But when I say Dunleavy is his floor, people have a problem with that because they play different positions?

Lame.

From what I see (which isn’t much), Holmgren is a 3/4 in the NBA. Maybe he plays some 5 in some super small lineups, but he is more a big wing/stretch 4.

I don't see how he'd play 5 in anything other than specific situations. He's got a nice offensive game that feels polished but I totally agree with you on the Dunleavy comp.

He's going to be one of the more interesting case studies in the NBA. I guess on the bright side his small frame may help him avoid the feet issues many bigs deal with

Yeah, BKS losing his shit over the comparison.

But, there are similarities in the way they play.

Did a 7 leg CBB parlay on the sweet 16 (left out UNC/UCLA) and hit everything except Arizona on a $5 bet....i am sick

Nothing hurts more on parlays when your upset hits as it did for me choosing St Peters then a favorite do you in
I had Houston beating Arizona.

Holmgren will be a better rebounder and shot blocker obviously but he is gonna struggle to find what position he fits in at imo. You could see him get a little out of sorts versus memphis and Duren.

Dunleavy will almost certainly be seen as a better defender and probably a wash on the offensive end.

I have doubts wether he will add enough weight to make a difference. He may add 20-25 pounds but that's still kinda skinny, I don't see him ever being 230-240 pounds (the weight he'd need to be at to avoid being bullied).

Yeah, in his prime Dunleavy was a pretty solid defender.

A small frame doesn’t matter nearly as much if you are playing on the wing.

My question, and I haven’t watched him enough to know, is where he fits defensively. Obviously he can move and block shots. Still not sure who is best suited to guard. Going to be interesting to see.

I agree which is why i dont get the comments about him getting pushed around. He not going to be guarding the real centers. Also, he is 19 and people should stop worrying about his weight. These tall skinny dudes always put on punds. Giannis was basically the same weight as Chet and now he is over 240

My play of the day is Houston -1.5 parlayed with under 131.5 for +180.

Feel best about the under but also really like Houston to win. Nova has struggled with ball pressure defense. Gillespie got his knee that left him out last year rolled up on in the last minute of the game vs Michigan. And Nova has had a nice path for them with matchups vs two Big Ten teams when it’s revealed now that conference was likely over rated based on tourney performance.

Yes and no. Yes, he will likely gain weight, but at his current weight, he will get pushed around by 4s and even some 3s. But, if hes smart he will learn how to adjust his game while he adds some weight and gets stronger.

I think he may develop close to the way Brandon Ingram has. I doubt he adds the weight/muscle that Giannis has...but as you say, he is 19, its likely that he will fill out more than he currently is.

@704Tarheels

How did you like the W last night?

Really happy for Coach Davis.

And a few weeks ago Joe Lunadri was saying the Tar Heels were one of the first four out, ha-ha Joe!

Just awesome man!!! I am so proud of this team and fck Lunardi lol....now just have to hope we don't become the next victim of the Mighty Peacocks!

On a side note, my 8 year old son's intramural team beat the brakes off their opponents 16-8 this morning lol

If Carolina doesn't take St. Peter's seriously that tiny school will advance to the next round. But I don't see that happening. Bacot, you think he's gone after the season? I'd like him to return but would be very surprised if he does.

I think NC is as good as in the final 4. Good run by St Peter’s though

I don't know if he's a first rounder yet, he may stick around but I honestly don't have a good feel for it yet.

I think we match up well with them, though I'd be lying if I said I really know what I'm talking about when it comes to St. Peters basketball. They have a couple of decent big men from the looks of it. Honestly the Heels should mop the floor with them if they do a little class work today.

I hope you're right. But I always like seeing the little guys crash the party.

Do you remember back in '05 or '06 when Billy Packer wouldn't STFU about George Mason getting in the tourney? All they did was make it to the Final Four.
