That's not true. First of all, every sport is regional to some degree and you get lower ratings in championships just about any time it involves 2 smaller market teams because the fans in bigger markets are less likely to watch.

That's why when asked what his dream championship series was...David Stern facetiously said Lakers vs Lakers.

I doubt a Charlotte vs. New Orleans NBA Championship series would be a ratings bonanza for the NBA.
Or the reasonably likely OKC vs Cleveland series this year

Exactly. I remember the Blue Jays and Marlins each spending huge money on FA's, getting a World Series or 2 and then having a fire sale to unload salary.

The moneyball A's didn't win a World Series, but they won 103 games in 2002. If memory serves, the Indians recent World Series appearance was accomplished mainly with guys they developed.

Another reason baseball works is because, similar to hockey where a hot goalie can carry a team to a title, a hot pitcher can do the same for a baseball team, especially if the rest of the pitching is solid.

That's how the '88 Dodgers became the least talented team to ever win a World Series.

The closest MLB has ever come to being a 4 team league that I have seen was probably the '70's and 80's with the Yankees, A's, Reds and Dodgers.
2014 Giants were also not super talented

Yup that’s how protected the Chiefs are. It ends next weekend.

Or….

They avoid major mistakes and don’t beat themselves.

Can’t say the Texans deserved to win that game. Made too many mistakes.

Daniels is the type of QB I only dream Cleveland could draft one day. I will admit a lot of it is lucky. If you are bad in a year where there is a great QB class or at least a couple guys that seem to be destined for stardom it’s a huge plus. I think Washington has done a great job supporting him in only one offseason though and coaching matters.

If they pick #1 do they grab Caleb instead? I do wonder. I liked both but I favored Daniels pre-draft. I thought he had everything you want in a QB.

lol

Yeah, a missed field goal, a blocked field goal, a missed extra point and giving up 142 return yards had nothing to do with it.

Any other team wins a game like that and it's "They found a way to win. That's what great teams do".

The Chiefs do it and it's "That's how protected they are".

Multiple absolutely horrible calls that’s what people are going to say. I had no doubt they would win. The Texans aren’t good enough to overcome that crap, that won’t be the case next week.

Now look at them not calling Goff about getting his head taken off.
