Has nothing to do with the color of his skin. NFL owners are a fickle bunch. Coaches of all races are fired too soon and also given too long in my opinion. Seems to me the quickest way to eliminate opportunities is to complain every time someone is fired.

Sometimes you are better off not taking the HC job and waiting for a better situation like Dan Johnson did.

Better get it on your contract then. I’m sure this is a situation where someone just didn’t like how he went about some things and the direction. I’m sure he got a hefty buyout. He will land on his feet I’m sure.

I agree for the most part.

There are extenuating circumstances though.

If the players obviously aren’t listening to the coach then he has to go.

Not always their fault either. But too much at stake to continue to bet on a player coach dynamic that isn’t working.

I agree that almost all coaches deserve 3 years, but it also isn’t realistic to expect to get it when things aren’t working.

In Mayo’s case, I have to think winning today was the final straw.
