Yeah, they entered the portal a few weeks or so ago. Wasn't really surprising. Neither has really lived up to the hype they came in with, so I don't really consider it much of loss.

Makai Lemon has been the best WR on the team and Ja'Kobi Lane has been right there with him. Branch hasn't shown that he could beat out either of them. Zion is a solid safety who played a good bit, so they lose some depth. But again, they have guys who have performed better. The guy that left that actually hurt, imo, was Duce Robinson. Dude is 6'6" and a matchup nightmare for opponents DB's.

Maybe they'll perform better with Georgia?

The fact that no one just absolutely tanked late may say a little something.

NFL doesn’t have a lottery.

Lottery is the most pointless thing ever. It does not accomplish what the league wants it to.

Just give the 1 pick to the team with the worst record.

Been saying that for years. The idea of the lottery was to end tanking...if anything...it seems to have made it worse.

Just go in reverse order from worst record to best record.

I think the nfl dynamic of having so many positions to fill totally changes things.

I always thought that was the dumbest thing in professional sports.

That and in the past when the MLB used to give home field to the League that won the All-Star game, sure the All-Star game mattered but what did that have to do with individual team success?

Before that, I think they alternated back and forth year after year and that seemed more fair than All Star winner even.

No reason it should. If the idea is to help bad teams become good, the team with the worst record should have the 1st pick in the next draft.

As far as tanking to get it, that's between the team and their fans.

Oh I agree it’s how it needs to be, I just don’t think tanking really happens in the nfl though.

That is true to a point.

But a franchise QB is every bit as important as a franchise superstar in the NBA.

The difference between pick 4 and pick 6 in the NBA isn’t all that great.

1 and 2 or 3 is most years.

In a weird way, I think the lottery incentives more teams to tank.

Without it, probably only makes sense for the bottom 2-4 teams. With the lottery, it makes sense for the bottom 3rd of the league to try to improve lotto odds.

Agree, the issue in the nba is that the tanking makes so many games unwatchable.

Maybe....but thinking the Browns draft better than the Pats.
I’m just hoping they don’t draft a QB this year. I wouldn’t mind a trade down. Shit even OT, DE or Graham (with a trade down).

Yep, if a team is the 9th or 10 worst team...they may not be able to get the #1 pick...but they might be able to get an earlier pick...so why not tank? Especially if it's not a particularly deep draft.

Even more so…

Getting in the bottom 7 significantly increases their chances of getting a top 3 pick.

Otherwise I think trying to get from 10 - 7 isn’t that big a deal.
