I mean it's a system failure if one team can be paid a shit ton more than the other when they are playing in the same game.

Sounds like more of an ownership failure than a system failure.

Does it? I mean, TV rights are going to be higher in NY or LA than, say, Cleveland no matter who the owner is.

Now our owner spending near the bottom in a contending window is an ownership issue.

Not sure how tv revenue is distributed in MLB, but I'd expect that at least as far as national tv, the distributions would be pretty similar. Seems like the difference would be in local tv revenue. Not sure what can be done about that.

Yep...it's local TV. What could be done? Better revenue sharing since the team making so much more money than the other team cannot have a game without the other team? Or a cap and a floor.

The hell are you talking about? Of course there would be as much of an outcry...not only could it have effected the outcome of the game...Betts could have been injured by those 2 idiots pulling on his arm like that.

What he makes has nothing to do with it.

Agree about 2025 ban.

Never seen anything like that. Maybe that was in reaction to the ground rule double called on fan interference earlier in the series (Jeffrey Maier flashback)? Or just drunken buffoonery (more likely)?

Which I am sure was the OP's point of reference

Cap and floor is the best idea but unlikely to ever happen, like so many good ideas in sports

I can definitely get behind having a salary floor. No more Donald Sterlings.

Not a fan of salary caps though. That would take some convincing.

Do you have a problem with the NBA cap?

The Jets are so boring. It’s like watching the Browns pre-Winston…I won’t name any names

You shouldn't. The Lakers owners are broke ass compared to most other owners, they'd never win another title.

The Lakers have the richest single team deal with a tv network in the NBA. Don't think it would be a problem. If it is...oh well, it would be time to sell the team.
