Truthfully there are very few owners that don’t like the salary cap, perhaps none. It’s just going to keep getting harder, the nba wants what the nfl has. I mean sure if they could guarantee it would be the lakers and Celtics every year they would take that but those days are over.
I imagine the other 28 owners might not be so into that

Why? Do guys think it makes them a bad ass to drop the ball or what? If I don’t fire this guy he is bringing me the ball and handing it to me going forward.

I don't get it. With as many times as this has happened, how is it that these players are still dropping the ball before crossing the goal line? It's not that difficult to make sure you're actually all the way into the end zone before dropping it.

Cap and floor is the best idea but unlikely to ever happen, like so many good ideas in sports
I think a floor could but likely issue with a cap isn't as much the players as the owners of the big spenders not wanting one.

No I mean the 5 richest owners would just take turns. Baseball is a completely different type of sport (and the playoffs are random so payroll means little there)
Wouldn't say it means little as Cashman is a complete dunderhead and while no title for a while he has won them and his team can compete most seasons because of his team's spending.

Some simply aren’t capable of building teams the right way
That's true, but our team understands......and while cheaper than they need to be I can understand why they would not spend like NY, LA, etc.

edit - my bad...seems you were talking about NBA?

it's simple. The point is to win. Why shouldn't an owner be able to use their full resources? Teams that truly want to win, find ways. In MLB, we've seen teams like the Marlins and Blue Jays spend a lot of money for a 3-5 year window, win a World Series or 2, then have a fire sale to get their payroll back down.

In the NBA, we've seen small market teams like your Warriors, the Cavs, Raptors, Spurs, Jazz, Buckalises and Thunder compete for and win titles by drafting well, making shrewd trades and bringing in the right FA's. Sure, big market teams can "throw money at the problem" and bring in big time FA's...but we've also seen that it doesn't always work out for them.
I mean, this is something I think I'd like the Tribe to do but should they have to in order to spend like teams bringing in so much more in TV revenue (for the same game they are playing in)?

And no doubt need to be smart. But did it take smarts for Yanks to bring in Soto to finally get back to WS? And I suspect after losing they will spend a little more either bringing him back and/or another stud. Did it really take smarts for LA to say, "Hey, let's bring in the best player in the sport?"

Again, not trying to diminish their title as those are the rules.

And is it really supposed to be cool for them to drop the ball as opposed to a spike, dance, handing to ref, etc?

That’s what I can’t make myself understand. Why is it even a thought of something to do?
