It actually used to be in prime time. It was a recent change to the afternoon slot but those on here won’t remember that because they just became fans last year. Used to be 7 PM or so and ESPN moved their baseball to ESPN 2

It was on Tuesday and the semi finals were Sunday

You are so right lol I knew something was on Sunday night because Sunday night baseball would be on espn2 because of this. Last year was the first time for Sunday afternoon finals start

There isn't now, never has been and never will be a perfect solution for sports scheduling between the 2 coasts. If it starts at 8pm in the East, it's starting at 5pm out West. So, as @bksballer89 mentioned, you're catching a whole lot of people driving home from work.

If you start at 6pm out West, some folks in the East may have to go to bed early and/or kids may not be able to stay up for the whole game. But you're still likely to lose fewer viewers.

You're likely to lose more viewership to people being stuck in traffic than you are starting an hour later for people who are already at home.
