You misunderstood me. The player in this case has not announced for the draft or gone in the portal.

But we all know they are going.

And if Caleb Williams decided in 2 months to return to USC?

You really think they say no to that?

No chance.

This game doesn’t matter.

This used to be what was exciting about college football though. We'd all pile in front of a TV of New Years day and watch the kind of matchups we don't get all year. Now that that momentum has been sucked out of these games no one cares.

The 12 team playoffs and subsequent 11 games will be a major remedy to that but I can't help but think more creativity around another tournament/playoff wouldn't be a better way to go.

I already absolutely know a G5 tournament would be a substantially better use of these teams then the Popeyes Hot Spicy Chicken Sandwich bowl

Maybe the next 16 teams play off for something idk...

#5 vs #6 in the nation... and this is what we get. :tsk:

Basically, every bowl game outside of the playoff match-ups doesn't really matter. All 72 of them (or however many worthless bowls there now are).

Like I said at least the playoffs make 11 games matter.

No they didn't.

And for context, FSU had 20 players opt out, UGA has pretty much everyone playing.
I think they both have players out but anyone saying they got it right might should be looking at if leaving Georgia out was right.

From what was reported before the game, UGA had very few opt out. They didn't want to end their season with a loss.

I think just about any other season, UGA still gets in. I heard that not only was this the first time an unbeaten P5 conference champ was left out, it was also the 1st time a team ranked #1 dropped all the way out of the playoff with a late loss.

But this is also the first time there were 3 unbeaten P5 conference champs and 2 one loss P5 conference champs with a head to head.

Who you rooting for? I wanna see the Lions win.

I will be rooting for the Lions for sure. My Cowboys days ended in 1989.
Eagles already have position on the Cowboys. If both teams win out, Eagles take the division. However, the Eagles need the Lions to drop one of their last two and the Eagles win out for the Eagles to get the 2 seed. It could be the difference in the 2nd playoff game being played in Philly or in Detroit.

So I’ll be pulling for a tie but lean toward a Cowboys win. At the same time, I’m in fantasy championship and need Jahmyr Gibbs to out score CeeDee.

Sitting here trying to imagine the ups and downs of rooting for a tie lol

They both should have their chance.

It is an absolute shame it has taken as long as it had to get to 12 teams.

This should have been done a long time ago. I have been saying it for like 25 years.

Georgia had like 20 players that transferred out and no Bowers. They did have Beck and their RB’s though. Florida St was not keeping it close if all their guys played for one simple reason-they were starting that true freshman Glenn.
I saw Ohio St play a lot of their guys with a more talented defense and they played great for 3 quarters but the offense was so bad bc of their QB.
Florida St had no chance.
