if anyone thinks losing your 3rd corner is a "big deal" in a league where tons and tons of teams are missing actual impact players- you are definitely lucky as fuck.....

omg.....if the Browns had a bunch of scrubs- and Newsome as the only IR guys (and Newsome is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better than Maddox)- - or anyteam had anything similar- it would be one of the luckiest injury seasons in years.

The Eagles for all intents and purposes are at full strength while tons of other teams are missing ACTUAL key guys.
You’re a Guardians guy. All you know in sports is failure after failure after failure. The Browns are having an all time type of season relative to the perpetual punchline they’ve been. It’s in your DNA. You’re just built to stack excuse after excuse after excuse. It’s odd that you would be so excuse focused during one of the best Browns season since the league gave them the expansion franchise. Just sad because when you think about it, this is likely evidence that you’ve never been able to please a woman sexually. Sad.

Be interesting to see who the qb is next year. People saying Will Howard from Kstate but that would be a big step down.

From what I've seen from Moss so far, he could be the starter. Just threw his 5th TD pass of the game. Talk about shaking off that pick.

Sure but the coaching change was the main issue. I mean look how the defense is playing with constant injuries…that is coaching
Given the choice of last year's players and schwartz or this year and Woods I might take the latter.

Isn't to say schwartz has not done a fantastic job and is better than Woods....but our players were really bad last season. Especially on the line.

The Tribe has actually won more games than nearly every team in the last decade so there's that. The Browns being a disaster most years does not take away from the amount of injuries they have had this year compared to a lot less for Philly....but get help when you move those goal posts.

Look...you tried to compare a hobbled player who plays to a guy out for the year. Just take the L and end it. Or I guess you could lie some more, Tommy.

Browns better not think tomorrow is a sure-thing though. The Jets can run the ball- and there are some guys missing on the line and in that LB core.

If the Browns avoid the pick-sixes, kick off return TD's, etc. that have plagued them at points this year--- if they just dont make BIG mistakes they will be fine.

Flacco isnt gonna be perfect- hes prob. throwing a pic or two- but just limit the damage and dont put the defense in too many bad spots and Browns should be okay.

That said- Semian is going to be carted off the field long before he gets to 49 attempts like he did last week.
Just saw we are down 10 starters and 3 key reserves. I know 9 of the starters but not the 10th (unless they call Grant a starter). No doubt this wont be easy.....and this team seems to play it's worse when they believe they can step on the field and win.

what i got from that is- you either A. knew you were wrong from the start; or B. realize how wrong you are.

The Browns really dont have much of a shot this year due to injuries - they will be better off next year. If they just had Chubb and 2 of their 3 injured lineman i would give them a chance.

As is? When you lose so many impact players its just too tough in the NFL with so much parity.

Delpit
Okoronkwo
Walker
Phillips
Hurst
McCleod

thats a lot to miss from the defense with guys just out for the rest of the regular season- at the least- let alone missing Ward for multiple games and other guys. Its hard to go anywhere when your top 3 safeties are hurt- 2 of your solid d-lineman- and 2 of your top 3 linebackers.

That doesnt even count the offense where its just ridiculous

Browns fans know this is not the year- its fun and they could win a playoff game if they get a good matchup- maybe even more- but too much attrition to make a real run

but the foundation is def there for the next year or two.

Your Eagles have had injury luck- Hurst contract has not exploded yet- your old corners are still somewhat effective- this is prob. as good as it gets for the EAgles for a while- and it appears incompetent coaching and a bad pass defense are going to do them in.

That is true- Guardians have had more success than prob. 70% of the league in the last 30 years.

lol....he knows @dtgold88 he made a dumb comment and is getting angry about it and lashing out - just take the L at this point. Eagles payroll and injuries will likely not give them as good a position as they are in now for quite a while- but their 2 reclamation project corners are getting old and the pass rush is not the same.

Having a bad pass defense in the NFL makes it impossible to win through the playoffs--- almost as impossible as having the most injuries to key guys in the league like the Browns.

dude- if just if our 4th rounder Jones, Chubb and Delpit were good- id give them a shot---- but 2 bad tackles, 2 undrafted free agent safeties and no elite RB makes it tough when Cooper and Njoku are your only legit weapons left.

honestly- I hated how Ford was hitting the line the other day- he looked tentative and slow. He def. has more game breaking ability then Hunt at this point- but if he doesnt get more aggressive you might as well just play Hunt.

Maybe they count the kicker? Was Hurst starting?

Lets see- 10 starters and 3 reserves

Offense:
1. Watson
2. Chubb
3. Conklin
4. Wills

those are the 4 starters on offense

Defense starters:
1. Walker
2. Delpit
3. Thornhill

???

Key "reserves"
1. Hard to call Okoronkwo a reserve but sure
2. Dawand jones- who was a starter for a while and playing great at RT- but not sure
3. McCleod- I really liked that pickup as the 3rd safety
4. Hurst- was playing really really well....

Phillips was a starting linebacker but hes been out all year. Obviously Hopkins at K and the punter are out.

Thats 13 guys I count who are out--- not counting Grant and DTR. I was bummed when Grant got hurt too- was interested to see if he could revive a really pathetic return game.

that d-line just comes at you in waves when healthy--- Garrett, Tomlinson, Zadarious are all generally regarded as pretty elite players. Okoronkwo was a guy they gave solid money to that they hoped was going to continue to get better and he really really has. Hurst and Harris and Elliot were all playing well at DT. Wright is developing. That is a helluva 8 man rotation for the front 4.

Its a historically good defense- but I just dont think the o-line and running game is good enough to take them deep

Again…I made no comparison at all. You’ve already lost (as per usual) when you have to put words in my mouth and create straw men. What actually happened is I read a casual who dismissed the importance of the slot corner position in the NFL in general and then didn’t even realize that the guy he was calling a nobody actually isn’t a nobody. It’s just that he doesn’t know him because again…a casual. These kinds of fans are all over sports. Browns at 10-5 and he shows up like he’s this big Browns fan with Lombardi level knowledge of the game. It’s Wiggy. He’s a fraud.

I’m not reading the word vomit of a casual commenting on the sport I love. You’re just wasting your time.

this is who he is

if he wasn't running behind an amazing line he'd be on a practice squad.

why try at all this year then if you're going to piss it away then

Yep.

Obviously Russ is an ineffective leader who can’t relate to teammates.

But man.

I watched that game. He was trying so hard to be a leader. To get his teammates to believe they were going to come back.

I have to appreciate this effort from a man who the organization has already given up on. Would have been really easy to just go through the motions and take that L.

I think Russ is kind of a douche but people trying to lay this year on him are crazy. And the coaching he had last year was top 10 all time bad on par with Freddie Kitchens.

The man had a 103 passer rating last week and we are going "where is Russ" He has a better passer rating than Lamar Jackson. Thats not to say he's having as good a year but he also isn't backed by a top 5 defense.
