As i expected

They always go QB. So lazy. It's clear to anybody that puts any thought into it the MVP this year should be CMac (my vote) or Tyreek Hill (I'd put him 2nd). They have consistently been the best players every week and absolutely wreck teams. There's no clear QB that's doing that, not this year. All people are doing is looking at the team with the best record and saying their QB should win MVP. Lazy af.

Yeah that MVP is gone

I can’t stand that Purdy is even a candidate.

He is having a great season for sure.

But MVP? Cmon.

McCaffery is their MVP hands down.

Commentators kept saying that Lamar emerged from that game as their clear MVP top dog. That is not how I saw it. CMac was the best player on the field last night. If they hand the ball to him again instead of putting it in Darnold’s hands, they are in a 1 score game despite Purdy throwing 4 INTs.

Which, by the way, Lamar also benefited from in the way of short fields.

Ravens were great last night and Lamar was a big part of it. He deserves to be near the top of the MVP talks. But CMac has had a better season.

Lamar had a good game.

But their defense was the story last night. Turning over SF 5 times is unheard of. SF has been completely unstoppable since mid October.

Good thing for Purdy is there's not a defense close to this in the NFC

Well, aside from SF.

I do believe there are a couple teams who could step up and get them if Purdy struggles.

But that SF team is the most complete roster I have seen in a long time. Just not sure what their weaknesses are.

Man, quit dogging my team...:mad2:

Seriously though. There's definitely gotta be some changes during the off-season coming up. If the KC brain trust has any actual brains MVS and Toney will be flipping burgers at Sonic's this time next year...
i think bienemy comes back

Concur! That defense is sick. I hope Kyle Hamilton is alright. He was one of my guys for the Eagles draft two years ago when they took Jordan Davis. I’m nuts. Eagles would never take a safety that high. But son of a bitch, they really need a safety. Anybody see Slayton get behind Reid Blankenship yesterday to give me Christmas dinner indigestion?

Yep. QB on the best team. Ravens can lay claim to being “best team” by going on the road and giving the Niners that beat down.

It seems like my diet recently has had an uptick in crow I have to eat.

I was Ravens hating. And in many ways all the red zone struggles despite the short fields kind of confirmed what I was seeing in my speculation but they play great complimentary football and they have one of the few defenses left in the leave that should be “feared”. Either way, I sold the group short and I was wrong. @thunderc congrats on the win last night. Ravens will be a force to be reckoned with.

And now all the narratives will change. That end of season game vs the Rams is big now

Niners always have trouble with running QBs, if this is the Super Bowl matchup they gotta figure it out
The issues were the turnovers. That’s a different game without the turnovers.

I wonder if Tua has an outside if he has two strong games against two tough defenses. Longshot
Yep. The narrative flips if Miami can win their last two especially because Hill is still banged up and it looks like Waddle will be out.

The bucs beat the jags though
Chiefs got exposed again. Bills struggled. Felt more like Dallas gave that game away to Miami with the early fumble on the one and Dolphins red zone issues of their own.

This year would be a really good year to diverge from the norm. At the same time, I want to argue why QB has become the norm for MVP. The QB position has become arguably the most important position in sports. It’s clearly the most important position on the football field. That’s why when they’re selecting the most valuable player the QB position has a leg up. Believe me, the QBs hate this condition. One guy gets the award. The same logic chases away QBs and declares them no good busts in the public sphere. We’ve seen that happen to guys named Cousins, Dak, Geno, Mayfield, etc… these are guys the NFL narrative left for dead and still ended up playing good football after media declaring them no good. Lamar may win MVP but there was no trade market for him this summer despite all the shitty QB play we see around the league because of all this narrative shit.

Offensive line wasn’t great to begin with and they got banged up last night. I think all of their 8 dressed OL had to play in the game last night. They also lack depth at the skill positions. The offensive scheme really struggled when Deebo was out. He was the example this year, but every one of their elite pieces of skill people need the other to get optimum results. Ayuik, Deebo, Kittle, CMC. Even fucking Kyle Juscwezk is irreplaceable in that group.

I’m nit picking an elite team for sure. I agree with your premise. It’s the best roster in the NFL when healthy. Shanahan’s scheme which leans on run and run action in pass game is a god send for NFL OL. OL would much rather run block than pass block and it’s ideal to be able to pass block when the defense can’t pin the ears back and just think pass too. The Niners have shown a willingness to run the ball (successfully) even on downs like 2nd and 15 and 3rd and 7/8.

I don’t think Bienemy is ever going back to KC. He’s the guy on my list of OCs I want the Eagles to go after this off season. Eagles OC Brian Johnson has been bad this year. At the same time, Nick Sirriani is heavily engaged in the offensive game plan and they run his system. They need a shot in the arm on that side of the ball. Hurts has regressed this year.

I often drop comments like this one on Twitter. You see some dude who maxes out as a JV soccer player in high school just vomiting mad slander at people with real talent and ability that you know they’re never saying right to a player. The way (myself included) people talk about athletes can be incredibly disrespectful. When real media acts like a 16 year old kid on Twitter that’s a problem. Florio is a douche bag and a failure. He’s a WalMart brand scoop guy wanna be Adam Schefter.
