This could just be evidence that the NFL is becoming more and more pass friendly. I would guess that the leaguewide passer rating stats are 10 points or so higher this season compared to 15 years ago.
I'm not sure some of my favorite defensive players could play in today's pass-happy league.
Ronnie Lott & Steve Atwater would get penalized all the time because of how aggressive they were. Two examples.
It's a shame what the league has become. But I'll always be a fan.
I'm good. You should always read back through what was posted, you will miss wisdom I have posted if you don’t.
Atwater was much more than just a hard hitter.Lott would be fine because of his talent level, and I think he would adjust his game. He started off as a great cornerback and he is a true Hall of Famer. Regarding Atwater, all I remember were the big, knockout hits. Maybe I'm not giving him enough credit for his skill, but that's honestly all that I remember about him. I don't think he'd be very good with today's rules and the improved overall talent and skills of today's NFL receivers.
Atwater was a fucking beast.Atwater was much more than just a hard hitter.
He finally got his due & got into the HOF a couple of years ago.
Both Lott & Atwater were all time greats.
You gotta put this on the NFL board
Yeah I don’t remember what year or the event exactly but it was some sort of NFL skills competition and they interviewed a bunch of the athletes about the biggest surprise of the event to them and half of them said they didn’t realize how big Steve Atwater was. LolAtwater was a fucking beast.
