Rivers and Herbert are similiar in the fact they could never seem to win the big games. Whether it is on them, the team, coaches, FO...just never enough.

Yeah....

Herbert puts up great numbers but it just doesn't result in consistent wins.

The analytics say 4th and less than 3...you go for it.

The problem is that the Chargers ALWAYS go for it.

The problem with that is teams know they're going for it, so they scheme for it which makes it more difficult.

Sometimes you need to just take the points or punt even if the analytics say different.

I didn't see this situation last night but will say I think they might take the points more if those points were a sure thing, which they are not. Again, did not see this one so I guess if it happened around the 15 it's close to a sure thing.

So at this point in the season the Cowboys are averaging 5 points less per game and the Chargers are averaging 5 points more per game. Obviously the Cowboys are fortunate to be where they are. McCarthy is not the guy, but no one else has been in 25 years so.

while I do think that change is incredibly huge, not enough credit is being given to Z. Smith, Tomlinson, Harris, along with a healthy Walker, JOK, Takitaki as well as the DBs being healthy (I think some were out last season for long stretches but might be wrong).

If memory serves, there were 2 and both would have been chip shots. So 6 potential points in a game they lost by 3.

I can see being a little critical then. Were they both 4th and short? I mean, if their numbers say they convert those at, say, 65% or better (or maybe even a little less) I get it. They don't know the play is going to fail.....and it seems these do work a lot. But no one points out when they do.

I recall a Browns game last year against Atlanta we went for it once and failed. Lost by a FG or less. Narrative, of course, was if we kick we at least tie. First problem with that is Doc Brown's Space Time Continuum, which is real. Second is we don't know they make the kick. More important issue is they forgot the time we went for it, made it and got a TD.

His way we got 7 points. Critics way we maybe get 6.

Sure but other than the DL the squad is the same and playing at a historic level. The biggest thing is these guys can play freely and not restricted. Schwartz’ system lets them do this. It doesn’t seem to matter who is injured. The system is the key.

It does help being healthy
