They were just talking about that on Dan Patrick.

Apparently, the rule is that you can't take your helmet off on the field of play and he technically wasn't on the field. They were also saying that the call is made pretty inconsistently.

In short, it seems to be one of those penalties that happen to bad teams.

All I know is it’s damn sure easily fixable. For the rest of his career he reports to a coach after he scores, the coach will help him take his helmet off from now on.

To be fair, he took off his helmet out of bounds, but not on his side line. Seems like a ticky-tack call at best? If it was a game winner, no penalty, but there were 12 seconds left.

I thought the call was absured. Get flagged for that. How many times you see a team score a TD and most of the offense runs into the end zone to celebrate but that's not a penalty?

Gonna take a wild, and incorrect guess, but the ref that called that penalty must have had money on the game.

They need more than that. They were almost exclusively running the ball thru 3 quarters to keep him upright. Unfortunately, nobody is selling off OL.

They had to expect this. You don't sell off a WR for picks without bringing in enough talent to replace him without expecting a drop off. No amount of witchcraft will get that job done.
