This is going to be the biggest trade in the NFL because Watson is really good and has another 8-10 years left, easily.....maybe more with the way QB's are playing late into their careers.

If the Jets do get him, they need to upgrade their OL.....that's what really hurt Darnold.

Browns are not getting rid of Mayfield, he is the man in Cleveland
There are only 6-7 teams that shouldn't be interested.....

Mayfield had a good season but he's been up and down since he's been with the Browns.

They're the new Jets/Browns.

:pound:

You never pass on the opportunity to bash my team. Check this out, it's funny. A comparison of our teams since the start of the 2002 season.

Browns have two playoff appearances, 2002 & 2020. The Raiders have two playoff appearances, 2002 & 2016.

Browns have 16 losing seasons. Raiders have 14 losing seasons & three .500 seasons.

Since 2002 the Browns have had three winning seasons ('02, '07, '20). Since 2002 the Raiders have had two winning seasons ('02 & '16).

Our teams aren't that far apart from 2002 to 2020.

Yeah, other than not being able to block anyone and not having anyone who can catch, the Jets offense was pretty good. lol

What also hurt him was that Gase was supposed to be some kind of "quarterback whisperer" and he actually caused him to regress. I think it was Tannehill who became a Pro Bowl QB after Gase left.

Yeah, but that wasn't all on him. Some of it was, of course, because he was pretty immature and seemed to be more into "brand building" than developing his game. It also didn't help that Kitchens was in way over his head.

This year he had a stable situation and showed that he can definitely be a franchise qb. The difference between him last year and this year is pretty remarkable. Not just statistically either. Just the way he carried himself on the field was different. More like he was in control.

Plus, as @thunderc pointed out...Browns fans love the kid.

Dammit man don't tell DJ that Mayfield's issues aren't all his fault. He don't wanna hear that. :heh:

I think it comes down to the Rams or 49ers now or another team in the NFC now. I'm all over the place with this.

This is gonna get nasty and I doubt Houston sends him to another team in the AFC.

hes had 4 head coaches and 4 offensive systems. lol.

next year will be the first year he is in the same offense and in the same system. He came to a team that was 1-15, and 0-16 before he got there.

the 2nd half of the season his QBR was like #5 in the NFL. He beat the Pittsburgh Steelers twice in the same season!!!

trust me- no one but Baker Mayfield is going to be the starting QB for the Browns for a VERY long time unless he is injured.

More than 6-7 and talking about teams that are locked in with this QB next year. Mayfield was a top 10-12 QB last year, he isn’t going anywhere. The Browns have other needs to address

GB - Rodgers
TB - Brady (pretty sure he said he wasn’t retiring)
Seattle - Wilson
KC - Mahomes
Buffalo - Allen
BAL - Lamar
CLE - Mayfield
Zona - Kyler
LAC - Herbert
Cincy - Burrow
TEN - Tannehill
JAX - Lawrence (will throw them in there since they have the #1)

I forgot to add the teams that have no way of trading for Watson bc they are too far over the cap/would be pretty unrealistic...

Saints
Eagles
Steelers

eliminating the Colts -same division

I might put question marks beside Cincy and Tennessee.

Burrow looks like he's going to be god, but Watson is proven and still young enough to be the QB for 8-10 more years.

Tannehill had a Pro Bowl season, but Watson is better.

This isn’t about just being better, you can see half of the QB’s on the list are young QB’s on rookie contracts. That is extremely valuable in this league, gives you room to build around them before the big money kicks in. Tannehill, sure you can put question mark by him but he has been very solid. They need to improve their defense regardless.

Cincy? Lol If Cincy said to Houston, we will give you Burrow straight up for Watson. Houston would do that in a heartbeat...doesn’t mean Burrow is better. Burrow has played one year with the worst OL in the NFL, he is safe.
